Chapter 7

First Date

Its almost date time, I need to go online to find some makeup tutorials. I blast some music to get me in a good mood. I find a good makeup tutorial and a nail tutorial. After my nails are dry and I finish doing my makeup I go over my hair with the flat iron once more just to be sure it looks extra polished. I really want to look good for him.

When I'm done getting all pretty, I down some Gatorade, eat a quick turkey sandwich then brush my teeth, floss, and use some minty mouthwash. I re-apply my lip gloss and put on some tropical scented body lotion. I'll make sure to use mouthwash again at 6:55. I must have fresh breath. I put some mints in my bag just in case and get dressed. I choose my white short shorts with a brown braided leather belt and a navy and white tank top with ruffled layers that I bought yesterday at Hollister. I slip on my gold sandals and my favorite charm bracelet from pandora to accessorize. I take a long glance in the mirror and I feel confident. I really should dress like this more often, I just feel pretty and I like it.

At 7:25pm I take another swig of mouthwash and gargle vigorously then spit in the sink, oh crap that stuff burns. I head downstairs and my mom gives me a smile and tells me that I look beautiful and to have fun, even Drew is looking at me like he doesn't recognize me, then he makes an inappropriate mouth gesture when my mother isn't looking. I just scowl at him. I look out the glass top of the front door and there he is getting out of a shiny black SUV.

I say a quick goodbye to my mom and promise to text her later on. I open the door before he rings the bell so my family doesn't embarrass me. There he is wow. He looks like a freaking Hollister model. Yummy! He's wearing some medium washed destroyed skinny jeans and a light grey tee shirt tee that is fitted just enough to show his muscular chest, abs and arms , he's got on some European looking sneakers. Oh my, he looks gorgeous. I walk towards him and he smiles at me.

"You look so beautiful Ana" he says and kisses me on the cheek. Oh that feeling is back.

I blush, and grin then say "thank you, so do you" in a low shy voice. (So do you, Yikes that sounded weird) He just smiles and takes my hand and we walk to the car. I shake my head at myself and roll my eyes. I have to think before I speak. I'm so nervous and I never say the right thing when I'm nervous.

It doesn't usually get dark until around 8:30pm this time of year but because of the weather is a little stormy it's kind of dark and gloomy outside. He opens my door and I climb into the SUV , it's really nice, with plush cream leather seats, navigation and all the bells and whistles you could ever want in a car. It's brand new and it has that new car smell that I love.

I compliment the truck and Christian says it a Lexus LX 570 that his dad got a few weeks ago. He said his dad lent him it because it's safer in the rain. He told me drives a 2012 Camry in Gray, it was his mom's but it needs new tires, he said he's not in a rush to replace them because he loves driving the truck. Does he think I don't know what he drives? Maybe he has no clue that I'm always gawking at him like a lost puppy.

He turns the radio on low and says "let's go" As we begin to drive I start feeling really nervous and I can feel my heart pounding. I mean he's super sweet but what if he doesn't like me after tonight. What if things don't go well? I don't want to embarrass myself. He pays close attention to the road but makes some small talk asking me more about my family and friends. He told me his siblings are doing a study program overseas in Europe for the summer and he would have gone but after his surgery his dad though it would be better to stay home until he was 100% healed, he told me his 12 year cousin Landon is staying with them just for the summer.

We head over to the movie theater but we just miss the 8pm show. The next show isn't until 10:20 pm. He asks if I want to go to the clubhouse in our neighborhood just to kill time until we see the movie or out to eat. I'm so nervous I don't think I could handle a meal right now so I choose the clubhouse, if I ever calm down we can go to a restaurant .A few minutes later we arrive at the clubhouse and before we can get out of the car it starts to torrential downpour so we just have to sit there and wait it out. He pulls in to a parking space and lowers the radio and we just kinda sit awkwardly.
