Jay had always been titled "the immortal" out of the ninja. Never had he ever sacrificed himself or died. Which is a step up from the rest of his team, who have all died at least once. In retrospect, this isn't really a positive. The ninja dressed in blue watched all his friends die. Whether it be a time the whole team remembers, or a time that only he remembers.

Jay contemplates this as he sits in the landbounty. He looks out the window at the wide jungle plain that passes ever so quickly. His eyes were not concentrated on anything in particular that lies in the terrain.

A warm hand is placed on his shoulder, and he almost jumps. The heat from the hand contradicts his cold and depressive thoughts.

"Jay? You ok buddy?" Kai asked, his hand heating up slightly.

Kai, the fire ninja. Most would describe him as overconfident, impulsive, and rageful. Jay however, saw him as a completely different person. Compassionate, protective, and a strong source of love. Just like the very element Kai commands.

Kai has always been there for Jay. After Jay and Nya broke up after Zane sacrificed himself, Kai was a bit over protective. But once he saw how Nya and Jay still remained friends after their hard time, he started treating Jay like family again.

"Yeah, I'm alright." Jay's tone lowered itself, a mistake that Jay almost never made. Jay was good at hiding his true feelings. Why was it so hard this time?

"You sure?" Kai persisted.

Jay looked outside again. He didn't know why, but he had a terrible feeling about this mission. They were just investigating an unknown power surge, they'd done dozens upon thousands of missions like this before. So why did this one feel different?

"I have a bad feeling about this Kai." Jay confessed, his blue and everlasting eyes meeting Kai's brown and auburn ones.

Kai knew, he always knew, that when Jay talked like this, he was serious. Jay would always play a joke and laugh it off if he was nervous. But this was different. Jay had a right to have that feeling, especially with a surge so similar to Jay's elemental powers. Kai didn't see a reason to be nervous about this, but now he did.

"I'm sure it's going to be fine Jay." Kai lied. "We've done tons of missions like this before."

"I know Kai, but this one it feels.." Jay put his hand on Kai's hand, and for a minute Jay could feel a new kind of warmth surrounding him. But he shook it off. "..off." Jay concluded.

The Landbounty pulled to a hult with a slight screech in the wheels.

"Common!" Cole groaned, face palming near the arcade cabinet. The classic "game over" noise followed as he did.

Zane couldn't help but laugh a little from next to Cole.

"We're here!" Nya called from the speakers.
