There you sat with your head leaned against the palm of your hand while your elbow touched the hard and cold surface of the desk, your eyes half open staring straight at the chalk board that was being covered in numbers and letters. You scribbled down on your paper not even knowing if you were writing on paper itself or the desk beneath. You were too busy with your head up in the clouds, just the other night you'd watched an episode of Space Heros. One of your all time favorite media crushes was Captain Ryan, you sighed as you thought of him saving you from any and every dangerous situation and right before you could think of his 2D lips touching yours you were snapped back to reality by your friend April O'Neil.

"Y/N? Class is over, we gotta go meet up with Casey." April said as she kindly tugged on the sleeve of your hoodie.

April and Casey were your best friends, you three loved to get in small trouble together and just spend time together in general. April was always there for you when you needed her support and Casey was always there to put a smile on your face on bad days. You'd like to say they were your siblings even. It made you feel down thinking about them now, they were always busy. They never said why and if they did you felt like they had lied about their whereabouts. It wasn't your business so you never pushed them with it.

"Sorry! I'm coming-" You pushed your papers and pencils into your backpack harshly and rushed to your feet.

April took your hand in hers and ran towards the door of the classroom, you smiled as she dragged you through each hallway up to the double doors of the school and out to the green grass all while blabbering on about how excited she was for spring break. Her beautiful orange hair flowed in the wind and against her pale smooth skin, her ginger locks paired nicely with her vibrant blue eyes. You envied her truly, she got all the boys to their knees even Casey. The grip on your backpack tightened. You just shook off the feeling, You were positive soon it would be your turn to have your own romance story.

You and April were on your way to the ice rink to see Casey, you two had promised him that you'd both be there to cheer him on as he practiced. You were excited and even asked April to bring her camera so you two could film him while making silly jokes on the side. Finally everything seemed to be going back to normal.

"Hey girls, took you long enough." Casey spat in a sassy tone.

He held his head soon in pain, even with all the layers of gear he had on April's hit still managed to make some damage.

"Y/N had been daydreaming again, she didn't even notice the bell dismiss us this time." April explained.

"I have no shame, you two know Captain Ryan comes first!" You shot back.

"Yeah, uh-huh." Casey followed his sarcasm with his lips making kissing noises, you whined playfully and April gagged.

You all knew you couldn't stay for long because it would be dark soon. You and April took a seat on the bleachers and pulled out the camera. There Casey went, being a show off and doing his little tricks. Your eyes followed the hockey puck being pushed around by Casey, the small object distracted you from everything else. Your hands were cupped together on your lap with your legs being crossed, you unintentionally zoned out just like in class. It wasn't for as long, the sound of April's phone broke you out of it. Your eyes focused on the phone and then to April who had picked it up and read the notification.

"April-"

"I know-." April cut Casey off and then turned to face you with the feeling of guilt in the same blue eyes that had just shined with excitement moments before.

You spared her the effort and held one of your hands out as a signal to stop her before she could speak again.

"It's ok," You lied, "Just you two go on and do whatever you need to do. Maybe we can hang out tomorrow." You gave a smile and reached down for your bag. What else could you do really?
