'Two you can save them. I know you can.'

I jumped out of bed and my alarm clock was going off, I got up and got ready quickly, I made some toast and extra, I rushed over next door and opened the door, "Max! Are you up?!" I said and opened her bedroom door, she was tying her shoes, "Here." I handed her toast and used her brush to quickly brush my hair, "I didn't wake up in time, slept through the clock, we might be a little late."

Max and I have been closer since we went through the same thing, her mom isn't around much so.. I've been trying to be there for her, she spends most nights at my trailer, she has her own room, I tried decorating it and I hope she likes it.

We walk out the door and I make eye contact with.. Eddie, I quickly get into my car, it's a sedan I bought with some of the money dad left me with.

Him and I haven't talked since my dads funeral, I sort of shut him out and a lot of people after that. I didn't mean to but I couldn't have them in my life and hurt them by accident with my sad and angry feelings.

Max got out of the car and so did I, "Bye have a good day," I side hugged her and she smiled, she walked off and put her headphones on.

I grabbed my bag out of the car and looked and saw Steve leaning against his car, he had dropped Robin off, "are you going to be one of those creepy guys who sticks around the high school after they graduate?" He laughed and shook his head, "Come here, stupid." I hugged him tightly and he hugged me back, "We need to hang out more."

"We hang out at my work." He said and i let go, "You still haven't talked to him?" He asked and I looked where he was looking, Eddie was staring and he walked into the school. "Figures he didn't graduate, again." I smiled slightly and looked at him, "Okay, go to class." He kissed my head and shooed me off.

Robin and I walked in together, "You know Steve still has the feels for you, right?"

"No way. He's been watching Nancy walk in ever since school started." I said, school started about 2 months ago, "I think it's just dead dad pity." I said and she looked appalled by my dark humor, "Sorry, just trying to.. get over it, I know I just can't get over it but, you know what I mean."

"I know, Sloane." She said and smiled slightly at me, "I'll see you in class." She said and walked off, Eddie walked by with his club members and i could feel his eyes on me.

I walked to homeroom and sat beside Robin and put my head down, I had 45 minutes to sleep, I've been extremely tired lately. Shit ton of headaches too.

Classes went by so slow, I just wanted to go home. I sat by myself at lunch, I saw Chrissy Cunningham looking at Eddie, I scoffed and got up and went outside, a cheerleader has a thing for him of course, AND she has a boyfriend. God.

Eddie watched me walk outside and I rolled my eyes, I sat at a bench by myself and opened one of my books, had to read Pride and Prejudice for AP English, then we have to have a debate if it's misogynistic or not.

"Hey." I looked up and it's Max, I smiled and she sat with me, "The stupid shrink keeps wanting to talk to me, about the nightmares."

"Well kiddo, maybe talking will help," I said and she looked sad, "Hey.." I said and she looked at me, "it wasn't your fault." I grabbed her hand

"BILLY!"

A huge flesh monster had its tentacle in Billy going straight through him, blood coming out of his mouth.

I let go and shook my head, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just a weird head spin." I said, "but I'm serious, it was not your fault, kiddo." She sighed, "Have you tried talking to Lucas?"

"No."

"He really cares about you, he calls my house asking to talk to you all the time." I said and she just shook her head, we sat there for the rest of lunch and I didn't know how to comfort her more,

"Ready to go home?" I asked Max and she nodded and got in the car and i did too, "We should go to the game tonight, get out a little." She shook her head, "I'm gonna go with Steve, let me know if you change your mind,"

Steve came by and picked me up, we also picked up Dustin and Mike, "Why does she get to ride up front?" Dustin asked

"Because I'm awesome." I said and smiled

We got to the game and found some seats, i waved to Robin and she was standing next to Vikki, her girl crushhhh ooooo, i loved teasing her about that.

The game was boring, but i was surprised to see the rest of hellfire club here, Mike and Dustin were sitting with us but the rest of them were at the other end, Eddie was looking at me, god, why's he have to be like that..
