Chapter 6

Charlotte's P.O.V

The next 2 classes were a drag, I couldn't stop looking at the clock and counting down the minutes until break. I couldn't stop thinking about Luke, not in the good way though, I can't believe he said that to me. What a jerk. The bell finally went, and I found Ellie standing near the canteen, I was so excited to get away from everyone in my stupid classes. We greeted each other and headed off to find a good spot to sit, I looked over to my left and I saw Luke with his friends.

Luke's P.O.V

I heard Charlotte's voice and I looked up to see her sitting with Ellie. Why would Charlotte be with Ellie? They seem like polar opposites, but they seem to be getting on heaps well. I feel really bad about what I said to her, it's just that my dads an alcoholic, he smokes and he always abuses me and my mum. I saw her golden eyes glistening in the sun and I thought she looked really pretty. I wanted to go over an apologise, but I'm too nervous.  I saw her look at me and I turned away in embarrassment because she caught me staring at her.
"Dude, what are you looking at?" Calum asked in confusion,
I could feel my cheeks burning, I was going all red.
"Um, nothing, nothing" I replied
"You were staring at Charlotte weren't you?!" Michael yelled
All the boys looked over at Charlotte to see her laughing with Ellie, I think she was trying to cheers Charlotte up.

Charlotte's P.O.V

"Hey look over there, Luke's checking you out" Ellie said in absolute disgust,
I shot Luke a death stare, he went red in the face and looked down at his food and i resumed looking at Ellie.
"I'm really upset, I can't believe he said that to me." I said
"But maybe it slipped out, because he might have problems at home or something." Ellie gave me a smile and squeezed my shoulder,
The bell went for third period, and I got up and left for English, I sat down and looked at the door to see Calum and Luke walk in. They sat on either side of me, Luke sat on my right, Calum was on the left. I looked at Calum, then I looked at Luke, and I caught him staring at me,  AGAIN. Thankfully the teacher walked in.
"Hi, I'm Mr O'Brien" he said with a big smile on his face "welcome, everyone's grown so much since last time I saw you."

After class Luke came up to me and said
"Hey, can I talk to you?"
"No." I scoffed and turned away, I tried to walk off but he grabbed me by the wrist.
"Luke, let me go!"

Luke's P.O.V

I want to tell her, really badly, but I'm not sure if I'm ready.
"I'm sorry for being such a jerk this morning. It just comes across as a shock to me to see someone as beautiful as you to be wrecking their body by smoking." I say
Charlotte blushed and looked at her feet, I think it's cute when she does that.
"It's fine," Charlotte said while still looking at her feet,
"Are we cool?"
"I guess so," Charlotte replied
"Hey, can I have you number?"
So Charlotte handed me her phone and I wrote in my number.
