Tears sprung to my eyes as pain was felt throughout my body. I let out a groan as I tried opening my eyes. I was laying on something, or someone.
I buried my face into the familiar lap that I now recognized as Luffy's.
"Ah! Hana! You're awake!"
"Gehehdhrfhf...."
Luffy laughed at my reply.
"Oi, help her up! She's in pain!" My ears perked up as I heard a familiar voice.
"What are you stupid or something? She just told me not to move."
"Huh?!"
I let out a sigh before turning over, grimacing at the pain in my shoulder. "It's not often Luffy let's me cuddle, I would like to enjoy it a little longer."
"See? She's comfortable," Luffy grinned.
"Are you both insane?! Do you not realize the situation we're in right now?"
"Loosen up, Law," I smiled. "It'll work out somehow!"
"Did I hear that right, Luffy? She SUPER wants cuddles and you don't let her? How can you call yourself a man?" Franky fought in my honor.
"But cuddling is boring," Luffy whined.
I grinned, "no worries, Franky. It's just how he is. That's what makes these moments so special."
Robin giggled, "yes, these moments when Luffy has no choice but to sit still."
"Exactly."
"What is wrong with all of you?"
I turned to the new voice. "Tashigi-chan! You're in here too? I love the new look, by the way." She had her shirt unbuttoned all the way down, and a fierce look on her face. It was a refreshing change from her usual meek demeanor.
"Uhmm...I'm over here..." Smoker was chained up as well, but he was laying flat on his stomach in a very vulnerable position.
"Smokey! Do you need help getting up?"
"Is she actually stupid?" Tashigi muttered.
"Hana, they haven't switched back yet," Robin kindly explained.
"Eh?? How confusing!"
"I assume that means your abilities are also blocked?"
"Yup." I pushed myself up into a sitting position and turned my head as much as I could to look at the contraption on my back. My wings were folded down and encased by what looks like a metal net. I could feel tiny little pin pricks that connected the bottom and top half throughout the entirety of my wing.
In a situation like this, my first response would be to rip off my wings. It'll hurt, a lot, but it would work. However, this metal net also curved over and locked my arms, making it impossible. Unless I want to lose my arms.
"I'm totally helpless here." I concluded.
"Because of that cage?" Franky asked.
I nodded. "Apparently, my wings take priority when it comes to my energy. If it's interrupted, the energy can't go anywhere else."
"When did you figure that out?"
"After the war. Turns out, the marines knew a lot about me."
"About that war," Smoker-in-Tashigi started. "You were there, then you disappeared."
"I did." Into the realm.
"Fire-Fist Ace was there, then his body disappeared."
"It did." Into the realm, with me.
