Everyone was surprised when Captain Mitchell threw away the F-18 manual. Celia bet they were scared shitless of how he was gonna teach.
Maverick started the dogfights training soon after. Celia could hear Phoenix and Bob get tagged by Maverick.
He was good, but Bali was better. While Maverick was distracted by them, she snuck up under him and tagged him.
"That's a kill, captain." Celia said over the comms, happy with herself.
"You're below the hard deck, Bali."
"Shit." She cussed. Her meter showed 4500, the hard deck was 5000.
"See Hondo for your push ups."

"188. 189. 190. 191..." Hondo counted both Celia, Phoenix, and Bob's push ups. Hangman laughed as he walked by them.
"Fuck off." Celia growled to him.
Hangman just whistled happily along.
But when Hangman was doing his 200 push ups Celia went down and personally counted for him, much to Hondo's approval.
"100. Finally. 101. 102.. You're so slow." Celia smiled down on the asshole.

"Maverick, Rooster, pull up now. You're at 1000 feet." Hondo said into the comms.
"What's going on?" Celia asked Phoenix.
"They're doing some crazy cobra stunt. And they're not stopping."
When they reach 500 feet, Maverick finally pulled up first, Rooster following. Rooster was tagged still though and had to complete his 200 push ups.
"Come on, Bali. Let's go." Phoenix nudged her.

Celia takes a sip of her beer before hitting her turn in 8 ball against Bob. She misses the hole and hisses in frustration.
Hangman and Coyote laugh at her failure.
She lifts an eyebrow at Hangman. "Better than abandoning a game after being told off."
He just purses his lips in return.
Bob takes his turn and gets 3 solids in, and then making the black into the corner pocket, winning the game.
"Good game, Bob." Celia shakes his hand while everyone proudly claps for him.
Bob smiles, a bit embarrassed but proud of himself too.
While her friends are talking amongst each other, Celia says her goodbyes, ready to leave. But she spots Rooster and decides to continue their conversation from yesterday.
She slides into the seat next to Rooster, who seems down, just looking into his glass. "Round two, Bradshaw?"
He looks up surprised but then his face morphs into one of mischief. "You know I'm always up for a challenge, Bali."
"Mmm." Celia hums in delight. "You should give me a ride home."
Usually she would help her tante Penny out with the bar, but tonight she decided to head home.
"It'd be my honor, darling." They got off their stools and headed for the door.
"Darling?" Celia questioned the name.
"Too much?"
"Just a little bit." She motioned with her fingers. When they hopped into his car she started to wonder about his depressed look earlier. "Hey, you okay? You seemed kinda down when I first went up to you."
Rooster turned to look at her and raised his eyebrows. "Yeah I'm alright. It's just Maverick."
"What about him?" Celia questioned.
"He and I... have a past." Rooster answered, never taking his eyes off the road.
They were almost to Penny's house and she decided not to pry anymore. Soon they arrived and pulled into the driveway.
"Thanks for the ride, Rooster." Celia said, just above a whisper.
"You are very welcome, Bali." Rooster grinned in return.
Celia leaned in and so did Rooster. She could feel the breath from his sigh on her lips. At the last second she pulled away and chuckled before opening the door and stepping out.
"Aww man. No goodbye kiss?" Rooster said disappointed. He put his hands up in exasperation.
"You'll get one when you finally take me on a date, big shot." Celia winked. "Good night Roo."
"Good night Bali."
