Luz's POV

I sighed escape my mouth as I made my way back to the owl house and the feeling of emptiness was replaced by a whole warmth feeling I am now feeling inside my chest, it was a good kind of warmth and I can feel a small smile made it's way into my face but quickly left as it came as she now stood face to face at the front entrance of the owl house.

"Hoot! Welcome back."Hooty greeted me and I hummed in response pushing the door opened and let it shut on it's own.

"Kid where have you been?"I turned towards the side where stood there crossing their arms was none other than Eda herself."oh I went out for a walk at the park, didn't Hunter told you about it?"I raised brow because I knew for sure I told Hunter to tell Eda I was going out to take a walk by the park."well apparently someone forgot."the owl lady narrowed her eyes towards the blonde boy sat down with a sheepish smile.

"Should have know."I said and begin to walk my way towards the entrance of the basement which is my room tho originally my room was upstairs but seen it was small and knowing myself I need a lot of space to work on  and since Hunter and Vee begin to live with them I just gave them my room or gave my room too Vee since Hunter took the other guest room and made it his room.

As I was about to opened the door to my room I was stopped by Eda calling my name again and I turned around to look at them."yes?"I ask with my brow raised in confusion to what is it that they wanna said, I can hear by their tone that there is something they wanna tell me but felt nervous.

"We need to talk.."

"About?"

There was a moment of silence until Eda took a deep breath and begin to talk again."about well...going to school?"

She had winced look as she said that school word and I looked at for a moment and replied a.."what.."

I was in the middle of processing about what she had just said to me, it still hasn't sink in for a moment or so but Eda begin talking again."you heard me, you see Luz me and your siblings had a long talk about this and we know we should have included you."Eda paused as I tear my eyes off the ground and looked up at them.

"But I actually thought of it as a good idea and a fresh start, Luz I knew you've been through a lot as in a lot.

I mean you lost an arm, lead a rebellion and dethroned the worst dictator and also become a strong and skillful witch I've ever know but you're still a kid."my eyes went wide at that."and as a mother maybe not by blood, I wanna want you kids to at least get to experience being your age go wild, make your own choices and maybe get yourself laid since you are 18 now."Eda snorted seeing my turned immediately red at that part.

"Anyways I already talk to my sister about enrolling you to Hexide but we are still waiting for your decision kid, you in?"

I never really thought of this day would come nor did I expected Eda to be the one to brought this up but guess it's surprising how a wild witch like her could actually be a great motherly figured. I once again sighed and felt a small smile again formed on my face."I'll love that idea."I said which must have surprised them and I quickly retreated to my room a.k.a the basement leaving them surprised.

Third Person's POV

Never in a million times would they get to see her smile like that so genuine which they are happy especially Eda knowing that her kid was finally learning to be more comfortable around them.

Eda knew just how much the brunette is carrying especially with the guilt she is carrying coming from her realm and whatever that is, Eda wants her to know and understand that her family which is them would always be there for her.

But only time would tell before the brunette fully warm up to them completely, Eda isn't blind. She could see how Luz is still tensed around them, how she still keep her distance and how she is having a hard time to express her emotions or feelings.

Eda can see it especially whenever the brunette would look away and avoid eye contact but tonight she look them at the eyes and had a genuine smile ok her face even if it's small.

"She liked the idea."Hunter spoke and Vee chuckled."she just didn't like it, she loved it Hunter do you not hear."Vee said and Hunter narrowed his eyes towards the younger brunette but laughed it off anyways.

"Now there's only one thing left to do, enrolled her and Vee to Hexide."Eda said and Vee eyes lighten up hearing that she would always be enrolled to school."well that makes sense, make sure to stay out of trouble tho you little Bastard."Hunter said ruffling her hair which caused Vee to groaned in annoyances and slap his hand away.

"Alright that's enough, Hunter help me make dinner Vee can you make sure King and Hooty doesn't make anymore mess."Eda said and made her way to the kitchen with Hunter following behind and Vee went on to make sure King and Hooty won't make a mess of the house.

At the basement, Luz stared at her prosthetic arm. It's already been 4 years, 4 years ever since she lost her arm but that actually isn't what bothering her it's what that tyrant said that bothered her even tho it's already been 4 years now.

"Do you really think they would ever considered you a family if they ever find out about the real reason you came here...the reason why you actually destroyed that portal...

Let's face it, Star Child. Just like me you're a monster yourself."

She blinked her eyes a couple of times as she felt another wet tears roll down her face and hit her prosthetic arm, she quickly wiped it off and stood off the stairs and continue to climb down. What he said isn't true, she isn't anything like him, she isn't a monster nor Star Child.

She's Luz, the human...right?
