Chapter 13 - Connections

"I would like to sign up for the Freelance corner as a writer for I have been able to write news about other people from the past. I also have the swiftness of a cheetah, an eye of a hawk, and the hearing of a bat. I hope that you will review my letter and consider me as your writer"

I read the email that I sent to the University Website yesterday and I still got no reply. It's crazy because I really wanted to do this as revenge on Sean. That guy is a creep.

I went over to the nearest gym to have a session. I think my muscles are starting to limp because I haven't had a workout for a long time.

On my 14 minutes of running on the treadmill, a guy approached me and offered me an energy drink.

"Hey cutie. I bought this for you." He says as he places the drink beside the treadmill and extends his arm. "I'm Dave by the way"

"And I'm busy, but thanks though" I said as i try to concentrate on my running. A few more seconds and I'm reaching 2 meters.

He moves to my side and places his hand on the bar near me. "Well I love a girl who's a little feisty."

Just 30 more seconds and I'm done with my workout.

"You're just going to ignore me are you?"

20 more seconds.

"Come on baby talk to me for a while" He says then suddenly pressed the emergency stop on my treadmill forcing me to go backwards and fell on my butt.

"Oh sorry about that" He offered me his hand.

"It's okay" I smile sweetly at him and grabbed his hand. He smiled as I accepted it, but I suddenly pulled him so he's lying face flat on the floor.

I stood up and picked up the energy drink he bought me. "Next time, don't interrupt me while I'm exercising. Thanks again for the drink!" I gulped the drink in one go and threw it in the trash. I went over to the weights section and picked up a 20 pound weight for each in a bar.

"Yow wassup bro!" I looked over and saw Top, Lite, and Vic approach me.

"Hey guys! You go to gym here?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me you're stalking us?" Vic laughed.

"In your dreams man" I said and tried to arrange the weights properly on the bar.

"Want to have a little fun?" Lite said to me.

"What do you want?" I asked curiously.

"If you could carry more weights than Top, then we'll do whatever you want to do for a day. if we win, we'll borrow your car for a day"

"It's a deal!" I never back down on a bet and thanks to my brother who's always forcing me to carry more weights, I think I can win this.

Vic placed 20 pounds on Top's side and I settled myself under the bar.

"10 seconds per lift okay? Who wants a bet?!" Vic screamed and crowd was made around us.

"500 pesos sa lalake"

"1000 pesos sa babae"

"Syempre sa lalake ako! 1500"

"2000 sa babae ako."

"1...2...3...GO!"

I lifted up the barbell easily as Lite counted 10 seconds. A lot more people were betting on us and I tried my hardest.

"Tired yet baby girl?" Top asked me as we were already on 60 pounds.

"I should ask you that baby boy" I said as Lite added another 20 pounds to make it 80.

"80 pounds okay! 1...2...3...GO!" I struggled a bit and lifted the barbell over me. I started to balance myself so my arms won't give out.

I see Top struggling as he started to groan loudly to lift the weights. I tried to focus on my lifting and prayed that I won't let it go.

"Yaaaaa!" I heard Top slam the barbell on Lite's 5th count and I carefully lowered my weights.

"And the winner is Xandra Xion!" Vic raised my arm and I shyly smiled at them as they started clapping.

"You are not human bro" Top said as he pants and drinks water.

I reached down for my bag and got a towel on me. I checked on my phone and almost screamed when I got a reply from my email saying that I should start this Monday.

"Now about the punishment" I said and looked at their faces as if I'm the boss.

I will use them to get my revenge on Sean! This is perfect!

"A bet is a bet. What do you want us to do?" I smiled and slowly said.

"I want you to tell me everything you know about Sean Tyler Park"
