Oakley's POV

I woke up, me and my dad went on a beautiful hike. It was a 3 mile walk all together. We got back I took a shower then saw Mason sitting outside with just his swim trunks on. He had abs and his hair was wet. He looked really cute so I got my bathing suit on and walked over to him.

Oakley: Hey Mason.

Mason: Hey, you spying on me or what?

Oakley: Maybe but I couldn't help but notice how hot you looked. And you looked a little lonely out her all by yourself.

Mason: Oh really. You look pretty dang hot too.

I blushed but then he suddenly picked me and jumped into the water with me on his shoulder. I came back up for air and saw him smiling at me.

Oakley: What was that for?

Mason: I don't know but it was funny.

Oakley: For you not me.

Mason: Oh really because your laughing right now.

Oakley: Okay it was just a little fun.

We got out and I decided this was a good time to tell him about my mom and everything.

Oakley: Hey I think maybe this is a good time to tell you about my mom.

Mason: Only if you want to okay.

Oakley: I do. So I lived with my mom and stepdad. I didn't know my real dad at the time. My mom said that he left when I was born but obviously he didn't.

At this point I already had tears in my eyes because now it was the harder part to talk about. Mason could tell and he put me in a hug.

Mason: It's okay your safe with me and your dad so just take your time.

I nodded then continued.

Oakley: My mom made me call my stepdad dad but I hated it because he was not my real dad. He also got really mad at me all the time and sometimes so bad that he uh hit and kicked me.

At this point I had tears coming out but I didn't care. I trusted Mason a lot and felt safe with him.

Oakley: I finally got the courage and went to the police station, district 21, and Jay walked down the stairs and I thought I look just like him. But I told him everything and they arrested my mom not my stepdad, he ran. They still haven't found him and it does scare me a little. But when Jay arrested my mom she said that he was my dad so we got a test done and I was his kid.

The tears were just coming out slowly but Mason still had me in his arms.

Mason: Hey I'm sorry you went through that but now life is better with your dad right?

Oakley: Yeah I guess. Well it actually has been but I still have it in the back of my mind that my stepdad is still out there.

Mason: Your dad will not let anyone hurt you and when your with me I won't let anyone hurt you.

Oakley: Thank you a lot. Anyways I get to hear your story right?

Mason: Yeah but mine is not as bad as yours I guess.

Oakley: What do you mean you I guess?

Mason: Well I didn't get hurt by it. But my dad would get really mad at my mom and hurt her like your stepdad did to you. I never saw it happen but I always heard it happen. This went on for a few months till one of the neighbors finally called the cops. The cops walked into the room with my dad beating my mom so they tried to arrest him.
