Today was the day I married my college sweetheart and high school best friend. I never thought I'd be in love with someone as much as I am with Lauren yet alone proposing and actually going through with it. I still remember that day I proposed.

Damn you really made it to the league," My dad says
I know dad it's crazy," I sighed as I took a sip of the now room temperature Budweiser. Ja and his dad sat on the balcony of his new home in Memphis drinking and having a father son moment.
Well don't get too excited," Dad laughed
I just feel like I'm still missing something in my life," Ja explained
"Well what do you think that is?"
Before Ja could reply his girlfriend came out on the balcony. "Hey babe the roast is in the oven and I brought you guys two more beers cause I figured these are hot by now." Lauren smiled and took the old beers
"Thanks Lauren"
"Thank you baby"
"No problem. I'm gonna go finish up this paper for my internship" with that being said Lauren went back into the house. Leaving dad and I alone again.
"How many more semesters she got until she graduates?"
Lauren was currently in the last semester of medical school. She was studying to be an OBGYN after her mom died giving birth to her little sister.
"This is her last one. She already got like eight job offers but of course she picked the one in Memphis so she could be here with me"
"She seems like the whole package. Beautiful, smart, caring, supportive maybe she's what your missing"
"I already have her in my— oh you mean marriage?"
Dad shook his head. "I want to marry her dad. Of course I do but what if now isn't the right time?"
"She cooked you a roast. Do you really want her cooking roast for another man? Do you think women now a days can cook a roast?"
He was right. The two sat outside and drank some more. Around 11 o'clock I had showered and was in the bed with Lauren who was already sleep.

Next day
Baby girl? Wake up," I shook her gently
What Ja?," She said groggily
Get up. You have a hair appointment at 10," He puts soft kisses on her cheek. Lauren hated being late so she jumped and started getting ready. Once she was ready they headed to the salon.
You should get that part to the side I like. With the lil piece of hair that's like a section not a whole joint that cover the forehead," Ja said as he drove
Side part closure babe," Lauren laughs
When they got to the salon Lauren was seated immediately. After tax he took her to get a Brazilian wax and her nails and feet done.
Are we having a party or something tonight?," She asked me
Yeah my mom is throwing us a housewarming," I somewhat lied
Thanks for telling me hours before the party," She said
Chill babe my mom has everything done up,"Ja said. The day continues on and the party gets started. About a hour in we started playing a game and now was the time.
"Ok babe this one's for the win"
He drew a wheel
"Tire?"
"Close but what's the other name?"
"Oh wheel!!"
"Yes!" I then drew a stick figure and the finger pointing to her.
"You!"
"Two more. You doing good babe"
I didn't know how to draw marry so I drew a Christmas tree.
"Holidays"
"No people say what on Christmas morning?"
"Merry!" She jumped up
One more! I simply just drew a stick figure and the finger pointing to itself.
"You or me!"
Pick one sis," Her little sister laughed
"Me"
Put that together and what you get," her dad asked
"Will you marry me! Yes we won!!!" Lauren jumped up cheering but stopped when she seen her family and friends with their phones out.
Baby?," she turned around and seen Ja on one knee with the ring of her dreams
A wise man once said she seems like the whole package. Beautiful, smart, caring, supportive maybe she's what your missing. I realized you are what I'm missing. Lauren I love you and I been in love with you since high school. Will you make me the happiest man and please marry me?," Ja smiled
Yes I will marry you," She said through tears
