"How long?" asked Jungmi. A serious look plastered on her face and for once, her usual bubbly self became oddly calm.

Kang sighed and shook his head. "I shouldn't have said anything."

"Oh no, no, no. You need to start talking after dropping a bombshell like that. Tell me what's going on." she demanded.

He continued washing the dishes and tried to avoid Jungmi as best as he could but Kang knew that once she knew something, she'd stop at nothing to get the entire story. He turned around to find Jungmi staring a whole into him.

"Tell me what's going on? Is your dead ex-girlfriend haunting you?" she asked.

"No, but for some reason I keep thinking about her lately and I see her or at least people who look like her. It's almost as if she's still alive." He said.

Jungmi pondered and remembered what somebody told her when she was a younger. "You know, if someone randomly pops into your mind or subconscious, they're probably thinking about you too."

"Why would Nara think about me? She's dead." he asked.

"You seem to forget how you two went your separate ways."

For a brief moment, Kang was reminded of the bittersweet farewell. Years went by and still he kept blaming himself for being so callous and cold towards the one woman he had ever truly loved. But how could he not when she wanted the one thing Kang didn't?

"I wish we had ended things in a proper way. Now it just seems like Nara..."

"-has some unfinished business with you? Yes, that's highly possible." Said Jungmi.

Kang shook his head and walked back to the living room where he sat down and sunk further into the couch. "This can't be happening, not right now. There's so much I'm busy with, a lot of things require my attention and I can't afford to lose focus."

"You know, as far back as I remember, most of my conversations with Nara were about you seeing her as a distraction." Said Jungmi. She sat down opposite Kang and looked him dead in the eyes. "Just because someone is dead, doesn't mean their actually gone. The physical body is just a temporary vessel, the spirit lives on whether we like to believe it or not."

"Are you saying that Nara is out for revenge?" Kang's raised his brow in curiosity.

"Not really but maybe she wants to reach out. I don't think every spirit we encounter is vengeful, Kang."

He huffed, "Who is 'we'? You chose to turn human, didn't you? Anything fox related in no longer a concern of yours."

Jungmi stood up and decided it was time to finally leave. "We were actually having a decent conversation but you just had to mess is up, as usual."

Kang chuckled, "This is my way of showing affection."

"If you weren't my only cousin, I think I would've disowned you a long time ago. Anyways, I have to go." She grabbed her purse from the table and waltzed to the door. "I'll see you tomorrow and you and I are going to figure out how to fix your situation."

"Its not a situation and it definitely doesn't need fixing."

"You say that now but don't come crying to me when you start seeing your dead ex-girlfriend everywhere. You know how obsessed she was with you when she was alive... imagine how bad it is now." She joked. "Toodles!"

The door slammed behind her and Kang was left standing in the middle of his quiet apartment, once again with his thoughts. Usually, nothing fazed him at all. He'd seen it all, done it all and had seen the worst carnage humans can caused but for some reason the thought of being haunted by Nara sent an unfamiliar chill down his spine.
