What A Lovely Mess

Day 3 - part 2

"I don't trust the new girl," Leo said, throwing his bag down, shutting the door behind him.

Finley shug throwing himself onto the bed "seems tame enough"

"Tame? Fin she isn't an animal-"

"Eh We're all animals these days Leo" he shrugged. Leo checked around the room his knife raised, Finley scoffed.

"Problem?" Leo turned to look down at him.

"You've checked the house over at least eight times, I think it's safe to say that we're fine Leo" Finley rolled his eyes, getting comfortable in the bed. It was slightly Dusty and didn't smell pleasant but anything was better than sleeping outside.

"I'm safe Darling, what can I say"

"Your too tense"

"Mhm" Leo places a knife on the bedside table as well as a flashlight before looking out the window. An eruption of laughter was heard in the room over Virgos and Pisces.

"Seems like they're really hitting it off" Finley chuckled looking over to the wall where the sound was most present.

"She started making googly eyes the second she saw Virgo the kids desperate" Leo chuckled and continued to look out at the dark streets.

"Kid? You're like a year and a bit older than her?"
"Shut up"
"I'm not wrong. Not my fault you're almost 30"
"I'm literally 27 Finley- well I think"
"Yeah, basically a pensioner" Finley turns to look at Leo who is clearly not impressed with his teasing.

"Whatever" Leo looked away. A uncomfortable silence fell on the room before Finley felt the need to break it.

"Leo?"
"Hm?" Leo watched as a cloud of smoke grew a few miles off, a short sigh left his mouth.
"Do you ever feel lonely?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Donno, just was wondering"
"Hard to be alone when you and Pisces are yapping in my ear constantly" he smiled, Finley watched Leo's reflection against the glass.
"Oh don't act like you don't love it"
"I actually despise it"
"Pfft-" Finley paused. "Yeah right," he scoffed.
"Hm," Leo hummed in response.

"Leo"
"What now Finley"
"You don't have to be so rude I'm only trying to start conversation"
"Sorry, just tired, continue"
"Do you ever miss him?"
"Who?" Leo turned to look at Finley who was sprawled across the bed.
"Don't act dumb, you know who I'm on about"

Leo thought for a second, before realizing, he shook his head and raised his hands signaling for Finley to shut up.

"Nope I'm not having this conversation right now Finley" he stopped shaking his hand
"We've got to talk about it at some point-"
"No we don't Finley!"
"Leo it's been years"
"So let it be another three, I'm not talking about it"
"What happened to Capricorn Leo"

Leo froze, his heart racing and his chest, a feeling he was more then used to by now. He turned back to the window, crossing his arms.

"Like I've told you a hundred times before Fin, he died"
"You've never explained how though- how he died"

A shifting of materials heard in the creaking of a floorboard. Finley noticed how Leo didn't respond.

"I'm sorry Leo"

Finley stood behind Leo wrapping his arms around his waist, resting his head on his back. Leo sides and puts his hands on top of finley's, continuing to watch the outside world.
