What A Lovely Mess

Day 6

Finley wiped his eyes feeling Leo beneath him, he must have fell asleep on top of him as they were cuddling.

"Leo" he ground rolling off of him and into the empty side of the bed the sheets felt cold beneath him. He kept his eyes closed just a little longer just to feel like things were slightly normal again yet he opened them revealing the crack ceiling he inhaled deeply as the smell of mold and damp caused his nostrils to flare.

"Leoooo" he dragged it out as he rolled onto his side to face him, he quickly fell quite as his eyes hit him.

For the first time and what felt like forever, Leo looked peaceful, he even seemed to be smiling in his sleep. Finley found himself brushing a hand over Leo's cheek, the tip of his finger running down the end of Leo's scar.

He pushes Leo's hair back, went down slightly to plant a kiss on his cheek, just below his scar before pulling away he tapped his face slightly "Come on now, wake up" he chuckled.

Leo let out a groan, yet was quick to sit up.

"We should get going Leo said stretching his back and arms as he stood.

Finley shook his head at Leo's urgency. He still walked over to him grabbing his hand.

"Just relax  for a second" Finley smiled, he brushed his thumb against Leo's hand.

"But hard when the worlds a shithold" Leo shighed.

"You use to be the most chill guy I knew"

"Thangs change Finley" Leo smiled

"Your almost the same as before"

"I'm not theam that I once was" Leo let out a sigh, almost as if he was ashamed of who he has become.

"Your changing everything day Leo, we all are." Finley brought his hand to Leo's cheek, brushing his thumb against it, Leo quickly eased into the touch.

Leo stared into Finley's eyes, the light blue capturing him, almost swallowing him whole.

"You have eyes that could tear me down"

"What's that supposed to mean"

"Not sure there just-" Leo post for a second to find the correct word "-beautiful"

"I thank your beautiful- perfection" Finley smiled.

"I'm not perfect, but you are..." Leo brought Finleys hand to his lips plenty of kiss against his knuckles.

"What's up with you being so sweet to day" Finley smiled releasing his hand from Leo's grip.

Leo shrugged  "I suppose I'm not as scared to show I care now"

"I'm glad" Finley wrapped his arms around Leo's waist, resting his head on his chest.

A pounding on the door was heard "Get a move on you two, we don't have all day!" Pisces yelled.

Leo smiled pulling away, grabbing his bag and wrapping it over his shoulder.

They've been driving for around 6 hours now they just hit the border of iowa, Finley was sleeping against Leo while Aairz tapped his knees to the beat of the song playing, Virgo and Pisces were singing along.

It was Pompeii by Bastille, the group were in there element. Until a harsh bump hit the car edging into the grass, they all let out a yell as the car hit against a tree, Pisces looked up seeing a nother car speed off.

"What the hell was that" Finley exclaimed waking up.
"Some butt whole just ran us off the road" Pisces yelled
"Just keep driving-" Leo said
"Ain't no dang way I'm letting that slide, I'll kill the Frickin rat" Pisces pulled back onto the road and began driving.

"Pisces right- we can't just let them get away with it what if they come for us in the future" Finley frownd looking between them all as the car speed up
"Well driving like a fucking idiot is only going to get us killed so slow the fuck down Pisces" Leo tutted, Pisces listend and slowed down slightly, they were still going rather fast.

"Where we've are we" Vergo asked looking out the window at the now town like area they drove through.

Finley pulled out his map and observe it "uh by the looks of it we should be in-" he paused making a marking in pincil "Cedar Rapids!" He exclaimed.

"Cedar Rapids?" Virgo looked around hanging his head out the window.

"Iowa then" Pisces bit her bottom lip looking about as she drove.

"There isn't not Z's" Leo observed.
"Yeah you're right surely there would have been at least one by now" Finley looked over out of the window.

"Somethings not Right" Aairz said, feeling on edge.

Pisces pulled up and the group got out of the car
"Let's just do while it's quiet" she said pulling her bag over her shoulder and beginning to walk off, Virgo made a little jog to catch up to her, their hands  briefly brushing against each other. Aairz also decided to join them leaving Finley and Leo alone.

"So why do you thank it's so quiet" Finley asked as he walked beside Leo.
Leo shrugged "Never seen anything like it"
"What's that" Aairz stoped pointing up at a hand painted banner that hung from an over pass.

"Don't know, don't care, come on" Pisces continue to walk. However Leo stopped to reserve it.

The banner was splatted with yellow, blues and reds. In bold white, "JOIN SCARLET TODAY; RECRUITING NOW" a painting of a man, an outline even beside the writing a firm logo of some type of pig at the bottom.

"What's got you so distracted today, get your butt over here Leo." Pisces gestured her arm and Leo looked down from the poster over to his friends before running over.

Instinctively he grabbed Finley's hand, Pisces open the door to a building, an old warehouse for some type of supermarket. Finley shut the door as he was the last to enter.

The sound of a can hitting the floor alerted the group they all looked up in confusion. That was until a thick smoke began to rise from the can.

"The heck That!" Pisces exclaimed pulling her shirt over her nose.

Finley reached out for Leo grabbing his hand, Aairz was the first to fall. Pisces grabbed Virgo and they slowly all fell.
