day 8?

"I can't believe we left her" Finley frownd as he leant his head against the window, trees and broken down vehicles seems to fly past as Leo sped down the road.

Aries was already asleep in the back, sprawled across all three seats.

Leo sighed, he didn't say a word in response, just a long release of breath which said a lot more than any words could.

"It's been 4 hours and you haven't said a word" Finley placed his hand on Leo's leg, looking up at him, however Leo just continue to focus on the road.

"Leo please"

Finley sigh knowing Leo wasn't going to speak, he simply leaned his head back against the window and crossed his arms curling up on the seat beginning to take a rest.

Leo's mind was racing, he hadn't left Pisces side in years, 4 to be specific. The year and they stuck so only together due to the pandemic and even though the start of the Apocalypse they never left each other's side. So far for the first time what felt like forever, there was an entire State between them, now they were in Wisconsin while Pisces was back in Iowa.

A heavy snow was falling, the car was extremely cold but all he could do was push through it. He drove between a large mountains, thankful that the snow slowed the Dead down. As much as he never openly say it, he hated them. He was scared of them and they creeped him out most the time. They made him stick to his stomach he couldn't stand it.

Yet he keep his head up and continued, because even just the slightest second he could give himself to breathe couldn't risk his and his friends life, so he had to keep moving forward. No time to stop. He kept his left hand on the wheel but reached his right out and pulled on Finley's hand releasing it from the tight crossed arm position he was in. He interlocked their hands and continued to drive keeping his left hand on the wheel and his eyes on the road. Not long and they'd finally be in Newberry.
