Chapter 17

"No Chuck stop," I yelled after him. I dropped everything and ran after him. He was running right for the maze doors. The griver must have scared him. "Chuck," I heard Newt yell he was chasing him too. I ran as fast as I could. He stopped right at the entrance. "Chuck stop don't go in there," I said running to him. "No this place isn't safe I'm leaving," he yelled starting to cry again. "It's not safe in there," Minho said. "Get the shuck in here," he said. But Chuck started to go into the maze. Suddenly the doors started closing. He was standing right in the middle of it. He just looked around at the walls closing in on him. "Chuck get out," I screamed. He just shook his head no. I ran in and yanked his arm out right at the last minute. He fell on me and I felt his body being lifted off mine. Two boys were carrying him away. "Hey put him down," I screamed. He was struggling and crying even more. I got up and started to run after him but then Newt grabbed me and held me back. "Hey let go," I screamed struggling to get away. "Stop Arden stop," he said into my ear. I saw the boys take Chick into the slammer. I screamed and got loose from Newt and ran right to the slammer with Chuck in it. I grabbed the bars. He was in there crying. "Arden help me," he said holding onto my hand. "I will," I said. "Let him out," I screamed at Gally who hand the key. "No," he said sternly. I banged on his chest. "Let him go let him go," I screamed at him. Two people lifted me off him. It was Newt and Minho. "Calm down," they said calmly. I was struggling and screaming and I could still hear Chuck crying. Suddenly I felt a sharp pinch in my side leg and every thing went black.
