Chapter 3

I looked around the room. It was dull, with a maroon textured wall.
"This is your room, Y/N, and I need you to remember to not get out of the room, unless I tell you to do so. You may take rest now. You had a long journey, anyways, I am leaving now." Ayame told me.
She left, closing the door behind her.
I kept my luggage at one corner of the room. Something was fishy about this place.
Suddenly I heard some voices outside my room.
"Please don't send me. I don't want to die," a weeping voice of a female said.
"You don't dare defy our God's orders!!" Ayame's voice boomed. "And keep your voices low, you will warn the new recruit."
"Take her away Natsu!"
"Yes, Ayame-san."
I quickly opened the door to see them getting startled and staring at me.
"Y/N didn't I tell you to stay in your room, and not come out until you're ordered to so!"Ayame screamed at me. But she quickly regained her composure and sugar coated her words, " You are tired, go take rest, everything is going fine here."
I had to close the door. I still heard the voices saying, "Why would you die? He has said that those whom he consumes live on with him forever. Natsu take her."

This wasn't fishy anymore. A demon was really roaming around here. What if it's... UpperMoon 2?
I quickly adjusted my sword under my kimono. But how will I get out. Ayame is literally standing outside my room.
I quickly surveyed the room for any opening. No, there was none. I sighed.

My only resort was the window.

"Ughh," I groaned as I finally got to the ground. Climbing down the wall through the window was really tiring.
Yes, I had to climb out of the window down the smooth wall. One mistake, and I would have dropped down dead.
I sighed as I readjusted my sword and kimono.
I walked trying to find that woman called Natsu and that girl.
But, where are they?
As I walked down the alley, I saw a musty and dark street, with a huge pile of boxes at the entrance. And walking down the street was Natsu, dragging the wailing woman.
𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳?
I followed them warily, as they took a right turn, and most probably entered a room.
I followed, but Natsu came out suddenly.
I hid behind the pile of boxes, as Natsu went away. As soon as she was out of sight, I started sprinting towards the room.
𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯.

As I entered that room, I saw that it was fairly huge and dimly lit like all other rooms in this whole Entertainment District. A lot of fragranced incense sticks were burning, causing me to cover my nose at the strong smell.
Then I heard the screams of a woman.
I took out my sword and arrived at the main room, yes another room inside a room.

And that's when I saw him.
He was holding the beheaded body of that woman, which was most likely torn out by his immense hands. Blood was dripping from the edges, and the beginning of her spinal cord could be seen covered in blood.
A lot of incense sticks were burning, and the room was adorned with lotuses and a single lamp.
In the middle, holding the body of the now dead woman, sat a man of tall demeanor on a red cushion.
His eyes were so familiar.
