I couldn't believe my eyes

I couldn't believe my eyes.

As we entered the clearing out of the forest, I saw a beautiful lake, glittering with flowers.

It looked as if someone had shone a light on the pond, but there was no one.

A boat waited for us at the bank.

He did all these, for me?

I looked at him, as he sweatdropped.

"I am sorry, Y/N chan, I couldn't prepare anything better for you, I didn't have much time. Would you, go on a boat ride with me?" he said, holding out his hand.

Prepare anything better?
Hell no. This was enough.
After all, it was the first time after many years that I was celebrating my birthday.

I took his hand, cold as usual, as he carefully  helped me on to the boat, before moving in too. As we sat down, he said that he will show me something beautiful too.

As the boat started moving, a light breeze struck me. The atmosphere was serene. Douma was unusually quiet too, as he enjoyed the beauty of the night.

As the boat moved along, it caused small ripples in the pool. That was the only noise I could hear.

It was when Douma moved his hands. As I looked in the direction of his movement, I saw an ice sculpture forming in the lake, which looked heavenly. It was glazed ice, as small water droplets trickled down it.

As we moved on, Douma created more sculptures along the way.

The sculptures looked like angels, with exquisite and intricate hand movement. I couldn't believe they were being crafted by a demon with his blood demon art.

As we reached the end of the lake, Douma rotated around the boat to return.  As we were nearing the end of the boat ride, time seemed to slow down.

I looked at the other bank. Cherry Blossom trees were in full bloom.

Unusual, they don't bloom at this time?

Or is this one of Douma's magic?

I looked at him, as he looked back and smiled at me.

A childish smile, filled with joy.

I couldn't help but smile back.

As I had been busy seeing the beauty of the cherry blossoms, I didn't see Douma making another sculpture.

As he called out my name softly, I looked at him and then looked at the sculpture.

It was bigger than the others, and the figurines looked so realistic and special.

And so familiar too.

I eventually realised that the figurines represented us, holding hands and looking at each other.

My cheeks turned warm.

It was beautiful.

As I looked back at him, I saw him, blushing too, his eyebrows drooped down a little. As time stopped for us, we looked into each other's eyes.

Until a strong gust of wind hit me, and my hair blew on my face, as I struggled to remove it.

I heard Douma chuckling as he held my face in his arms removing the hair.

"I actually have a gift for you."

He pulled out a mini replica of his gold fan, as I looked at the beautifully crafted hairpin.

It's made of gold?!

He pinned it on my hair, securing my strands in place.

❝You're really beautiful,Y/N chan.❞

As we looked at each other, he came closer, as the moon shone brightly above us.

Hi guys, mitshoyo here!!
I know most of my readers do not really like Douma, but read my story since they like it, it's really an honor for me.
However, for this chapter can you please not post any anti-Douma comments? I spent a lot of time on this chapter, so it would be really great for me.

Besides, this is the last chapter for the meantime, as I am on hiatus.

Have a great day,
mitshoyo.
