26. Love's Second Breath

Third Person's POV: 

After that little episode where Ji-ah and Han seojun were pushed into each other's embrace, Ji-ah went back to the classroom. Mr.Han asked the students to turn in their career survey forms on Monday. After school she went to that coffee shop with Lim ju gyeoung, the owner was a very nice lady, and the cafe was cozy, in a commercial place that was close to Ji-ah's residence. Though it was opposite to where Lim ju gyeoung lived but she didn't mind. After talking to the owner, they easily got the jobs on Han seojun's reference, that lady really admired him for his hard work, and she couldn't stop praising him. Lim ju young got the full shift while Ji-ah signed up for weekends only. It was Friday so Ji-ah and Lim ju gyeoung would start tomorrow. 

Ji-ah went straight to the Hospital from the cafe, since it was the weekend she was planning to stay the night at the Hospital. Emmo needed rest, she was staying there for three days now. Ji-ah didn't repeat the same mistake though she texted Han seo jun and Go woon about going to the hospital and staying there and  Han seojun read her texts but didn't answer.

Ji-ah was in the room with Omma, her condition looked better, she could eat on her own and be pretty stable but the doctors wanted to keep her hospitalized because she was not improving. Halmeoni was reading the bible and Ji-ah was just sitting beside her bed on a stool, staring into thin air, Halmmeoni noticed that something was off Ji ah-ya!? Why are you so quiet? is everything Ok! " Halmeoni asked her and Ji-ah flashed her a smile, but Halmeoni could tell that it was fake, she could see through her, Ji-ah was her daughter but she didn't press the matter believing that Ji-ah would tell her herself. Ji-ah wanted to share this with Omma, the things she had been feeling towards Han seojun, how his actions affect her, and how she can't be at ease when he's mad at her. But Omma was not the person weighed down with the burden of her stupid emotions.

Mi hyang also noticed the change in Han seojun how he was extra quiet and grumpy. Ji-ah also looked upset when she met her at the hospital, she had a hunch that something was up between the two. "How's it going with Ji ah?" Mi Hyang asked him when they were having dinner.

Han seojun: "What do you mean? Nothing is going on" He told her with a goofy grin, the grin he always puts on before his mother, but she is his mother, she knows him better than he knows himself.

Mi hyang: "She looked upset not her cheery self"

Han seojun: " She is never cheery," he said with a full mouth, munching on his food

Mi hyang: "She is when you are around"

Han seojun: "You just answered your own question, I wasn't around"

Han Go woon: "That's why Omma is asking if something is wrong, the fact that Unni is staying the night alone at the hospital and you didn't offer your company or didn't make a fuss about her safety, that's kinda new' Han Go woon chimed in.

She had a point there, Han seojun dropped his spoon, making a clattering sound, "She doesn't need to be protected and she made that clear"

Mi hyang: "Did you two fight?"

Han Go woon: "They did but that was two days ago..."

Han seojun: " And we made up - Han seojun didn't let Go woon spill any more details about how worried he was for her that day, he spoke with agitation turning to his mother- Omma! Why are you asking me such questions? You never bothered before, what's  so special now?"

Mi hyang: "You look happier around her, that's what is special and to me, nothing's more important than your happiness' Han seojun remained silent, he didn't know what to say to her, he knew that she was right but this time it was not his fault, "We're fine Omma! Don't worry, I'll go see her tomorrow" he reassured his mother at least he tried to.
