Chapter 8: What an entrance

Zero days until the party

Catra POV

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEE*

I turned off my annoying little alarm clock and looked at the time. "8:00 am, ten hours left." I sat up let out a yawn and stretched out my arms. I got out of bed grabbed a towel and some clothes and walked to my bathroom. I turned on the shower and got in. I let the water hit my face, I tried to calm my nerves.

But then I remembered the dream I had last night. I was taking a shower and Adora joined me and, let's just say things got... steamy. "No, no, Catra stop it not now." I got done taking my shower, dried myself off and put on my clothes. "I just need a distraction to clear my head." I walked out into the hallway and saw beautiful burgundy, gold, and white decorations cover the walls and the flame lamps that usually lit up the halls at night were lit with white and gold fire.

"Hey, morning sis!" Jasmine said walking up from behind me, and putting her arm around my shoulders. "Thought that I'd have to drag you out of your room." She said smirking. "Oh come on, I'm not that bad."

"Says the one who sets six alarms and yet somehow is always late to any event." I rolled my eyes. "I'm not always late. Sometimes I'm early." I said elbowing her side. "All right sleepyhead, whatever you say. But I didn't just come here to make fun of your sleeping schedule, Mom said there are a few things that she needs help with before the party tonight. She told me to get you and go to the ballroom." I nodded, then a fun idea popped in my head.

"Race to the ballroom?" I said smirking at Jasmine. She returned the smirk and we got into position. "The winner gets bragging rights while the loser has to do whatever the winner says, when ever the winner says." Jasmine proclaimed. I hesitated at first considering the terms. But then again the thought of having a chill day while Jasmine did all my royal duties does sound intriguing.

"Alright, your on." I said smiling, then Jasmine started the countdown. "5... 4... 3... 2... 1, GO!" Are bodies were set ablaze as we took off through the halls. "I hope helping out on these few things will be a good distraction." I thought to myself as we flew to the ballroom.

*Six hours left 12:00pm*

Adora POV

*sigh* "Eight more hours until I see Catra... OH STARS, I HAVE EIGHT MORE HOURS UNTIL I SEE CATRA!" I thought to myself. I felt the anxiety and excitement come over me. I started to pace around my room as I got lost in my question filled mind.

"How is she going to react when she sees me? Will she avoid me? I wonder how she's been doing all these years? Will she be angry or sad or surprised to see us? I wonder what she's going to wear? WAIT WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR, AHHH I'M NOT READY FOR THIS!"

"ADORA!" I jumped and turned around to see Bow and Glimmer standing at my door. "Oh um, hey guys, sorry I didn't hear you." I said fidgeting slightly. Glimmer and Bow walked in and sat down on my bed leaving a space between them. Bow padded the space and I walked to the bed and sat down filling the space.

They both hugged me. "Adora, you know you can tell us anything." Bow said pulling away slightly. "So please, tell us what's on your mind." Glimmer said also pulling away slightly and putting her hand on my back. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"It's just, it's been two years. Two years of me and everyone else thinking that Catra was dead, two years of me crying myself to sleep wishing that she was alive, two years of having dream after dream of her being here, of us being together. And now that I know she's been alive for the past two years I feel happy that I get to see her again. And I'm so excited to see how she's grown and changed, but that leads me to question why she made us think that she was dead? Did she want nothing to do with us, or with me? Does she still hate us after all these years?"

I got so lost in my words that I didn't even realize that I started to cry. "I-I just love her so much, I can't lose her again." Glimmer levitated some tissues over to me, I wiped away the tears and somewhat regained my composure. "Adora don't you worry, you will get Catra back, and we're going to help you." Bow said with determination and a sparkle in his eyes. "What really?" I said. "Yeah really, we know how much Catra means to you and we know you do the same if it were one of us."

I felt the tears coming back, but not from sadness, from the joy of knowing I have the most amazing best friends in the world.

*Three hours left 3:00pm*

Catra POV

"Alright then we fly up do the fire blast, gracefully fall down, stick the landing on the ballroom stage and boom, performance over." Jasmine said lifting her fist up in the air. "Finally, that only took hours." I said slouching in one of the ballroom chairs. Jasmine and I have spent hours doing some final adjustments and decisions and we had finally decided how are entrance would end. "I hope that the attendees will like it." I said relax in my body I'm letting out a sign.

"Especially Adora." And there it was. The one person I did not want to think about right now, was immediately put back in my mind. My tail started to flick and puff up and this did not go unnoticed by my sister. "Hey" Jasmine said nudging me with her shoulder. "Everything is going to be fine." I let out a huff, relaxed my shoulders, and smoothed out my tail. "Thanks sis." I said as I pulled her in for a hug.

*Zero hours left party time*

No POV

As the princesses entered the Halfmoon ballroom they were amazed by all the white, gold, and burgundy decorations. They saw that some people were staring at them. 1. Because they were new faces. and 2. They were the ones who help save Etheria from Prime. They all found a table and sat down taking in the scenery and people. Well the other princesses were, Adora was just fidgeting slightly and looking around the room.

Glimmer placed a hand on top of Adora's, making her relax slightly. "Adora relax everything's going to go fine." I Sighed. "She's right, she's right, I will see Catra again I just need to relax." After a few hours of chatting and meeting some new people the lights dimmed, the ceiling started to open up, and King Jasper and Queen Stella walked onto the ballrooms stage.

"Hello everyone, and thank you so much for coming to our daughters returning party." King Jasper said with a booming voice. "We are so happy to see how many people support our daughter, so without further ado." * Just like fire starts playing* "Put your hands together for the princesses of Halfmoon."

As the song started playing fireworks start at to burst in the sky. They started out regular but then they turned into shapes like a cat's paw, A fire cat head, the Halfmoon insignia, and some of the Halfmoon main colors. Then when once this song started building up the chorus a giant firework made a picture of Catra, Jasmine, Jasper, and Stella. Everyone gasped and cheered as the fireworks show pictures of the HalfMoon family.

It continued like that until the song got to it's last chorus. Two streams of light flu up into the air and let out a giant burst of fire. The two strings of light gracefully fell down and landed on the stage and revealed themselves to be Jasmine and Catra. The crowd whistled and cheered at the princesses performance. While the other princesses were dumbstruck. "Wow, Catra really ask changed." Adora said as she lovingly stared at Catra's smiling face.
