I sit back relaxing in the backseat while looking out the window. I feel a wave of nostalgia rushing on me as I look at the place of my childhood. I never thought I would be back here honestly. The Projects. Where people are relying on just enough cash to survive, drug dealing, and etc.... Yet for some reason I kind of missed it... not enough to move back, hell no, but just enough for the summer.
Not much have changed since I left, then again, it's only been a year.... wasn't expecting much actually. The only difference is that my parents moved away from Miami. I'm very happy they moved, Pops getting too old to be on these streets and my mom was able to open up her bakery.
"Mani" My sister says waking me up from my trance, "We gonna meet up with the rest of the crew, they wanna meet you". I nod to her and continue to look out the window.
*10 minutes later*
We pull up to this garage.
"We hereeee!" Caresha exclaim whilst getting out the car.
I get out the car and look around. It's about 11pm so the streets lights off and it's quiet in the neighborhood. My sister grabs my hand and leads me inside.
The place have blue led lights lighting up the place. The same blue corvette I saw at the race is parked in here. Next to it is a 2005 purple Nissan with the hood up. I leave my sister side to get a close up of the Nissan
"Damn this engine dope as hell" I said to myself. I walk around the car thinking of all the cool designs that can be added on the car.
I take a couple steps back still admiring the car. "It's dope as fuck huh?" I turn my head to see the man with the big fro from the race. Pretty sure his name Luda.
Turning my head back to the car I nod a yes.
"Come on let's meet up with the others" Luda says walking way from the cars. He leads me to a lounge area where I see JT and Caresha sitting on a couch with a couple of other people in there.
I step in the room and sit in between JT and Ski. "IMANIIII!!" ski says excitedly while turning his head to me. I can't help but to give him a big smile and look at him. "SKIII!!!" I say back with the same excitement as him. We both start laughing at our bubbly energy even though it's late at night.
"Nahh bru it's 11 something at night there should be no reason why yall got that much energy" Uzi looks at us while giving us a sassy ass eye roll.
"Uzi shut the fuck up and eat yo noodles" JT says.
"Whatever" Uzi whisper under his breath while shoving a fork full of noodles in his mouth.
"Okayyyyy" JT stands up from the couch grabbing everybody attention.
"I'm finna introduce my sister to yall because she finna be spending the whole summer with us....." My sister stops mid sentence and looks at me.
I look at her confused.
"Actuallyyyy I'm finna let her introduce herself but before we start where the fuck is JayB?" JT question.
Everyone looks around the room shrugging their shoulders. "He probably with some girl or something", a girl with platinum blond hair spoke out. It just hit me that she's the flag girl from the race... wow she's pretty as hell.
The door opens and the handsome first place racer walks in.
"mhmm there he goes" Uzi muffled with a mouthful of noodles in his mouth.
"Wassup everybody" Jay says while sitting down next to the girl with the blond hair.
"Wassup is that you late and my sister is about to introduce herself so full attention to her" JT replies to him.
I stand up from the couch walking to where my sister was. "Wassup everybody my name Imani, i'm 19 and i'm JT sister", I start off.
"I go to FAMU up in Tally and that's pretty much it" I say while heading back to my seat.
The blond girl turns to me and introduces herself "I'm Chaerin but you can call me CL for short" she says with a smile. I smile at her back.
"I'm Yugyeom or you can call me yeom for short don't matter to me" A boy black hair says to me. Oooh he's cute I say in my head while giving him a smile as well.
I turn to JayB "Sup i'm JayB" he says while looking at me with a smirk. I give him the same smile i gave everyone else.
"And you already met everyone else so we should be good" Caresha announced.
"Yall did good out there today" Luda looks over to the boys and starts counting money.
"speaking of that when yall gon start racing again?" Ski asks JT and Caresha.
"When Fro over there finishing fixing my car" Caresha answers while giving Luda an annoyed look.
"you race?" I questioned
"Hellll yea she race" Yugyeom answers
"matter fact we all race over here"
"You know how to drive?" JayB asks with a blunt in his mouth.
Where the fuck did he get a blunt from?
I look at him nodding my head.
"Bet, then she can race" he smiles at me while smoke seeps out his mouth.
"I never actually raced before tho" I continue to stare at him.
"JT, you cool with yo sister making me some money this summer ?" Luda laughs
"Only if she cool with it and don't be getting my baby sister into any trouble with yall gang shit".
