Kicking open the door, I shuffled into the classroom. 29 pairs of surprised eyes blinked back at me. The teacher swallowed nervously and spoke, "You must be the new student, (Y/N)." I nodded with annoyance. "Please go and sit next to Hoseok. Hoseok, put your hand up."The boy with an empty seat next him put his hand up eagerly. I flopped onto the seat and pulled out my earphones. I sighed. School was such a waste of time.
I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned my head. "Hi, I'm Hoseok, but you can call me Hobi if you want." I groaned and closed my eyes. "Please. Just don't talk to me. Kay?"
After school, I walked home. The street was quiet, with distant sounds of laughter echoing from inside homes. Suddenly, I sensed a prescence from behind. I grabbed the perpetrator's hand and dragged him forward. I raised my fist when I realised who it was.
"You? What are you doing here?"
Hoseok gasped with relief and pain as I let him go. "I wanted to talk to you." He stuttered. "I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out with me."
"What?! Who do you think you are?" I said.
"I know, I know! You don't want to interact with people but you should at least try! Let's be friends. We can be best buddies!"
I felt as though my heart would burst with happiness. Someone wants to be my friend! I turned away as I strolled down the street with a smile.- the next day -
I rested my head on the table as the teacher ranted on about algebra, waiting for the lunch bell. A note slipped under my arms. Opening an eye lazily, I read the note.
You sleepy?
I glared at him. Duh. He laughed under his breath.
I still want to be friends with you.
I still don't want to be friends with you.
I saw him chuckle. Ring ring!
"Hey (Y/N), let's go lunch together." he cried, grabbing my hand and pulling me out."Why do you have such a badass girl concept?" he asked.
"This is just who I am." I replied, pushing a sushi into my mouth.
"You seem like a nice girl to me."
"Well, I'm not."
"I like you."
I choked on the sushi. "Excuse me?" I lifted my fist up. "Do you want to die?"
He laughed loudly. "Nope, I'm staying alive thank you very much."- fast forward -
"Let's go and eat dinner together. I know a really nice place."
Rolling my eyes, I agreed. "Cool. Let's meet up in front of that restaurant."
Swinging my foot on the pavement, I glanced at the sky. The moon shone brightly. I took a deep breath when suddenly, a pair of menacing hands grabbed me and dragged me into the alleyway.
I struggled to break free but my efforts were wasted. The man was way too strong. He belched loudly and let out a laugh. "Don't worry missy, we'll have fun tonight." I shivered with fright. Words came out as nonsense. The incident from a few years ago came back to me. A sense of helplessness filled me. Tears brimmed in my eyes. I was doomed.Sounds of running feet came closer and closer. I felt my captor release me. I dropped to the grouns. My eyesight was blurry. What was happening?
"Are you okay?"
Relief surged through my body. I held onto his shirt and cried. "I thought...I thought..."
He stroked my hair gently, "Everything is okay now...I'm here..."I fell asleep in his arms. His scent filled my nose. I could smell a faint smell of lemongrass. I sighed.
The rays of sunlight stroked my face. Hoseok's arms were wrapped around my body. I snuggled next to his warm body. Safe and sound.
