"WHY do these technicalities always happen when I'm piloting," Junie whispered to herself as she reached up and pressed a few flashing buttons."Hey Mando, did you just learn how to fly a ship!" Axe yelled at Junie from somewhere in the ship.
"I'm being chased by three different people because you didn't know how to shoot!" She yelled back at the man she had met less than a day ago. "Another word and I'll purposely let the bloody ship blow up just so I don't have to be in your presence any longer!"
Junie switched a few buttons back on, pulling back on the steering handle as they sped through space.
Tilting the ship to the side to avoid a missile, she missed a blaster bolt which hit the ship. She cursed as it shook so violently that her armour felt like it was going to shake right off.
She shot it upwards, and then flew upside down behind the ships and pulled the lever to jump into hyperspace.
She leaned back in the seat, letting out a deep breath. She heard a muffled groan and stood, walking to see the man lying face down on the floor.
"I hate you."
"Hey, you asked for my help," Junie crossed her arms, "you're lucky you found me and those hunters didn't kill you."
Axe mumbled in response, which she couldn't make out. "Was that a thank you? Well, you're very welcome."
Junie walked back into the cockpit, pulling the lever as they arrived in sector two of the Outer Rim territories, just flying above the planet Nevarro.
She smiled, even though no one could see it under her helmet. Excitement flew through her like she flew the ship, taking over her senses as she tried not to fly too fast. They entered the atmosphere.
She landed the ship carefully, shutting the engine off and walking towards Axe. "Well?" She prompted, and he begrudgingly pulled a pouch out of his pocket and handed it to her.
"You need new armour, your helmet has a scratch on it - and a dent."
"Beskar doesn't come for free, bud," Junie told him as she pocketed the credits. "I'm off. The ship is yours, I don't need it. Enjoy your cowardly life."
Junie bumped her shoulder with his as she passed by him, and could practically feel his angered eyes on her retreating triumphant figure.
She walked out of the ship, smelling the ashy air of the planet she had grown accustomed to coming to. A leader of The Guild, Greef Karga had taken a particular liking to her and Din.
Din.
She had left for just over a week and had already missed his snappy comments, his body standing next to her, and the feeling of safety that she always had around him.
Junie had left for a reason, she needed space to think by herself. If Din saw her sitting around and saying nothing for hours, he would get extremely concerned, as Junie didn't keep her mouth shut for more than a minute.
Recently, she had started thinking more and more about her past, and her parents.
She knew they weren't her real ones, but she pretended they were because it was comforting, and they were good enough for her.
She wondered if her real ones were still alive, and she couldn't shake the feeling that they may be.
Then why would they leave her? Give her to random people? Did they even love her? Why had they given her away?
She had searched for clues, but came out empty-handed, and had struck up a deal with the insolent man named Axe, who she was glad to be rid of.
Something else that had bothered her was a new strange feeling around Din, another reason she wanted time away.
