It has been a few days since Luz was sent to the summer camp, in which made Andra more angry at the woman and refused to even look at her without feeling of anger going through her. But something happened to Andra a few days later, she was reading a book written by somebody named Caleb Wittebane by a lake when it started boiling somehow, then this strange wind had came out of nowhere and had pushed Andra into the lake, not knowing where it would take her.

Andra coughed as she began to clear her throat and opened her eyes to see a setting sun like a fading ember and a silver crescent of the moon shining in the sky. The countless stars sparkled like distant diamonds in the sky. A couple of purple clouds had started to come together. Andra felt something strange around her neck and lifted it to see a brown double-bitted key with an eye-shaped button on its bow that's dangling from a sturdy brown leather rope. Andra frowned in confusion before she took her hands off of the new necklace.
She looked around nervously as she stepped up onto the cliff, but Andra was amazed when she saw the landscape that she was somehow on. The grass was orange as if it was on fire, while the trees are in the colors of autumn: red, orange, and yellow. The moonlight and starlight illuminated the dark night sky, making the sky more rich in color. Andra heard unique sounds from all over the place, in which she barely recognizes.
"It's beautiful," marveled Andra.
Andra looked down to see that she was standing on the edge of a cliff that overlooks the sea. She could of sworn that she could see the sea was boiling? She looked over towards the left side of her and was slightly spooked to see what looks like a giant, horned skeleton with different types of landscapes (there's a snow-capped forest at the giant skeleton's knee, a foggy forest at the giant skeleton's forearm, and so on). Andra could also see a faint outline of a nearby town, but it was too far away for Andra to walk there and besides, she doesn't want to know the reaction of the natives who live on this island.
Andra walked away from the cliff and sat down against a nearby tree with an arm behind her that served her as a pillow. She looked up at the night sky, watching the stars as they illuminated the night with their beautiful silvery glow. She wished that the stars were like this back at home, if she was even on Earth in the first place.
Andra counted them to help her fall asleep when she noticed a strange constellation. It was in the shape of a circle with a weird symbol inside of it.
"That's a new one," murmured Andra thoughtfully as she traced the shape with her finger. "I wonder what it's called." She booped as she finished tracing the stars.
Suddenly, just as she finished tracing the constellation, a giant fire sprouted from her fingertips, transforming into a fireball!
Andra's eyes went wide, as she sat frozen, her mouth dropping, and she yelped as the fireball shot up into the night sky like a flare signal. Andra, ran onto the cliff, froze in disbelief as she watched the fire ball began to sail into the sky. Magic, she had just done magic. But, there was no way, magic was not real. Not on Earth... But then again, Andra's not on Earth anymore. She's in an amazing place that has magic.
Where am I!? Did I just do magic? Andra wondered as she shook head and stood on the edge of the cliff to look at the direction of the fading fireball. What is this place?
"I just did magic," whispered Andra, she suddenly raised her voice in amazement. "I just did magic!"
A huge deal of amazement and overwhelming joy had ran through Andra as she cried out in joy. She knew she wasn't ordinary. She knew she wasn't a freak. She is special. She's originally from this unknown place. Andra isn't sure how she ended up in the first place, but she's glad did up here.
Once Andra calmed down, she stepped back from the ledge and started heading into the forest. Andra looked around eagerly, her eyes brilliant against the mixed lights of fading gold and appearing silver. She was still shivering in amazement as she continued walking through the forest. But as she continued walking through the forest, Andra suddenly heard a strange squeaking sound that surprised her. She pushed the bushes apart to see a baby with a human face with pale skin, red eyes, sleek black hair, and bat-like wings and claws. She was a little startled at the sight of the baby, but she figured that the place she's in would be quite different compared to Earth.
"Hey, there little cutie," Andra cooed to the unique baby. "Are you lost?"
The baby gave soft cooing and squeaking before he looked up at her curiously. The baby flapped its wings and flew up onto Andra's right shoulder. The baby squeaked and nuzzled Andra, which unnerved her a bit. But Andra soon heard unfriendly voices being spoken nearby, she and the baby hid in the bushes as a pair of white-cloaked, strangely masked people walked by.
"We should find the Bat Queen," said somebody.
"Really?" another person said. "I thought we were searching for something to calm Kikimora down. She's becoming more paranoid by the minute."
"Fair point," said the first person. "Lets keep searching for that plant for the Head Healer."
"I just hope we don't get attacked by those wild witches again," the second person said.
Andra suddenly realized that there maybe no humans on the island, so maybe the natives won't take kindly towards outsiders like herself and she'll probably be in a heap of trouble.
"We better get out of here," Andra whispered to the baby after the duo had walked past them.
The baby nodded their agreement as they both went deeper into the forest and arrived to a rocky cave. The baby landed on a boulder as Andra walked up next to the baby in a protective manner. Andra looked at the baby in gratitude before the baby flew deeper into the cave, Andra followed close behind.
"Hello?" called Andra, looking around warily as she remembered her past experiences that involved caves. "Is anybody here?"
"Who dares enter my cave?" Out of nowhere, a bigger version of the baby who must be the mama had flown down and looked at Andra warily with her ruby eyes.
Andra bowed down to the Bat Queen and said, "My apologies Your Majesty. I just need shelter since I had arrived wherever here is."
"Ah, I see that a certain child of mine had also led you here." Andra nodded her confirmation to the Bat Queen's statement. "Thank you for protecting Otty, he could be quite troublesome." The boy aka Otty gave a sheepish grin to Andra, while she rolled her eyes in fond amusement.
"Is it okay if I stay here?" asked Andra, looking at the Bat Queen nervously. "I don't want anybody to think I'm a freak, since I'm a..."
"A hybrid of a human and a witch?" Bat Queen finished for Andra gently.
Andra didn't reply, but she looked away from the Bat Queen as she started to hug herself and nodded. She suddenly felt something rubbing against and looked down to see a small, cream-colored lioness with teal eyes rubbing against Andra's legs like a housecat. She sat down on the ground and started gently petting the lioness, who purred in pleasure.
The Bat Queen finally smiled and nodded to the eagle once the eagle palisman was done speaking to the Bat Queen in her whistling and piping sounds.
The Bat Queen looked at Andra, who was watching this with an awkward and nervous expression, as the Bat Queen said, "My dear, this eagle palisman has lost her witch a long time ago and has been with me for a long time as soon as she had arrived."
Andra looked at the lioness palisman in sympathy, whose head was bowed in grief, and said to the lioness, "I'm sorry for your loss my friend." The lioness rumbled back in response.
"She has been here for so long," continued the Bat Queen. "That she wants to feel the rekindle of a bond once again."
"Really?" Andra looked at the lioness curiously and the lioness tilted her head to the girl too.
"Indeed." The Bat Queen chuckled at the likeness of the duo and the obliviousness of the newcomer was showing towards the wildcat's choice. "But finding her witch is very difficult. She's very peculiar about witches."
"Oh." Andra stepped a little away from the lioness palisman, but stopped in surprise when the lioness had flown over towards her. The lioness palisman licked her hand and laid down in Andra's lap.
"In all of my years, I've never seen her befriend a witch this quickly before." The Bat Queen smiled at the witch and the lioness palisman. "She's very brave. She had never been taken in by just anybody."
Andra blinked in surprise and turned to look at the lioness palisman as she said, "She wants me to be her witch?"
"Indeed." The calmness in the Bat Queen's tone and the warm, gentle encouragement in the palisman's eyes made Sky smiled.
Andra knew she had to name her new palisman friend. A great name that matches the greatness, the beautifulness, and fierceness that her eagle was carrying within her. Andra raised a hand and nervously started stroking the glossy fur of the lioness. Andra closed her thoughtfully, thinking up a good name for her lioness that will suit her perfectly.
"Is it okay that I'll call you Storm?" The lioness purred eagerly and inched closer to Andra's chest, making the girl hugged the lioness. "Storm it is then." Andra closed her eyes as a smile graced upon her face and continued petting Storm's fur, making the lioness purred softly and rested her head against Andra's forehead.
Andra and Storm both looked up at the Bat Queen, who seemed very happy to see that they had bonded with each other.
In a bit, Andra and Storm helped looked after the palismans and in return, they helped them build a fireplace with the branches from outside. Andra smiled and started reading her book, while the palismans started to play with each other or snoozing.
After a while, the sound of squeaking from the Bat Queen's babies. Andra and Storm both looked up from the fireplace they had as the Bat Queen bathed her babies. They were quite restless and the smallest one flew in front of the fireplace, but was shooed away from the touching the fire and accidentally burning himself from Andra. She could see how tired the Bat Queen was getting, she decided to help her out since the Bat Queen had helped her.
"Hey children!" called out Andra sweetly. "Do you three want me to tell you a story?"
The three bat children calmed down and sat down around the fireplace with the palismans as Andra began telling them the legendary story based off the stories that her late father had used to tell her when she was about to go to sleep. Andra was satisfied to see that her storytelling skills had paid off and had made them fall asleep.
"Thank you Andra," Bat Queen said with a smile and stood next to Andra and Storm. "I'll let you stay here and help you with your magic."
"Thank you Bat Queen," said Andra with a smile. "But mind telling me the name of the island that I had landed on?"
"You're on the Boiling Isles," Bat Queen replied.
Andra smiled and continued petting Storm's fur, making the lioness palisman purred in pleasure. She glanced outside and up at the approaching night sky. The moon shone down on her like a huge diamond and the stars glittered like scattered balls of lights in the night sky, but Andra knew her father would be looking down from those stars.
I will miss my mother and Luz, but it's about time I learned more about myself.
Boiling Isles, here I am.
