"I care for you still and I will forever."
JULY 2022; SAME DAY
"YOU DONE?" ROME ASKED WITH A blank look on his face as India continued on her heated and in his mind hypocritical, rant. He wanted to do something besides argue with her for once, yet it seemed like she wanted to do the opposite. Rome wanted to understand India so bad but after days and weeks of trying to do so, he came to the conclusion that he should just stop trying. It's natural to want to understand someone you love and most are successful, but in Rome's case, trying to understand someone that made it impossible to be understood would only drive him crazy. There was no understanding India and at times it seemed like she didn't want to be understood.
Rome shifted in his seat as India took a step back from him. She titled her head and squinted her eyes taken aback by Rome's demeanor and tone of voice. "So I have been standing right here talking to you for the last couple of minutes and all you could think is 'damn, I can't wait for her to be done?' Really, Rome?"
"I haven't but you keep going on about it. I told you I would try to fix it. You know I didn't tell him to make that post so why do you keep going on about it?" Rome questioned, holding back on some of the things he had to say. You're a hypocrite and quite frankly, you're making me reconsider being with you.
"Why do I keep going on about it?" India responded with shock evident in her voice. Considering the circumstances and the wording of the post, she didn't see a reason why she shouldn't keep going on about it. "That's the problem! It's like you're purposely not trying to understand anything that's coming out of my mouth! If one of my friends were to make a post just like the one Jordan made how would you feel?"
With the irritation level in his body rising, Rome rolled his eyes and sat up straight on the couch. "I don't know. I guess I would feel the same way your friend's man felt. That's if there really was a friend that the post was made for. Let's be real, India, what's really going on 'cause this," He pointed between the two of them, "is getting blown out of proportion. You saying I'm not understanding, but I try to understand everything about you and everything you say even when you hurt me. I don't mind putting up with your shit every once in a while but now it's starting to become a repeating occurrence. Damn near every day if you want me to be exact."
Rome stood up from the couch and stared at India. When she didn't respond, he shook his head and walked to his room with India hot on his trail. He entered his closet and pulled out his uniform since he had to work in a couple of hours. Another reason why Rome didn't feel like arguing with India today. How was he supposed to deal with the random attitudes he would receive and hide his irritation? How was he supposed to uphold quality customer service when his attitude wasn't up to par?
