A couple weeks later, Noni drug a heavily pregnant and depressed Chrissy out of the house, "Jeanne wants to have lunch with us!" Noni grumbled at Chrissy.

"Why don't you go?"

"You are going too, Christina!"

Chrissy began to cry, and Noni sighed, "I'm sorry, Principessa..."

"It's alright. It's just Jack and the baby and..."

"And what?"

"Forget I said anything. Let me get dressed. Jeanne's been lovely to me. I don't want to stand her up."

Chrissy dressed in striped pink and white top with a matching pink skirt, completed with white kitten heels. Noni smiled at her, and then drove the two of them to a restaurant that Jeanne had insisted they try. When they arrived, Chrissy immediately saw Dean outside trying to tie pink and blue balloons around a sign out front. Again, tears began to fall from Chrissy's eyes, "They didn't..."

"That boy," Noni said quietly, "He love you. One day, you two will be together."

Dean smiled his big toothy grin upon seeing Chrissy. He walked toward her and helped her out of the car.

"Come on in. It's your party after all!"

"You and Jeanne shouldn't have..."

"I can't take much credit. I had the idea, but Jeanne, Noni, my mother, and Jack's mother did everything else."

"You're all wonderful..."

Chrissy was showered with gifts by everyone at the party. When it was over, they loaded up Dean's car, Noni's car, and a few others with gifts.

Dean had Chrissy ride with him since they were driving to Chrissy's and Noni's new home.

The beginning of the ride was silent. Finally, Dean spoke, "How are you holding up?"

"I'm okay. Thank you for today."

"Chrissy..." Dean pulled up to a stop light.

"Hmm?"

"I'm sorry that I was too late."

Chrissy squeezed his hand, "I'm sorry too, Dino. It doesn't mean this wonderful friendship we have is over though. I like Jeanne a lot, and I think she'll be good for you."

"She is a real wonderful gal."

"Dean, you'll be there still for me and this baby, right?"

"Of course, honey.

"If something would happen to me and Noni, would you take care of the baby?"

"Of course I would. I'm going to help you take care of the little one anyway."

"You're one of the only true gentlemen in this world."

"Aw hell, honey. I'm far from it, but I care about you and won't let anything happen to you."
