Y/N shot up in the bed at the loud noise of the blaring alarm clock. Y/N rubbed his eyes and looked around the room. For a moment, Y/N had forgotten that he stayed the night in Bokuto's room, but he quickly remembered when he felt Bokuto's hand gently resting in his own and saw Bokuto sitting on the floor, leaning against the bed.

Y/N rubbed his eyes and gently squeezed Bokuto's hand, hoping that would be enough to wake him up, but it was not. Y/N poked Bokuto's face gently. "Bokuto, you gotta get up, we have to go to school." Y/N mumbled.

"A-AH!" Bokuto screamed, "I'm up! I'm awake!" Bokuto shook his head and looked to Y/N. "Oh, good morning Y/N, did you sleep well?"

"Y-yeah." Y/N nodded his head, a little bit of shaken up from Bokuto's screaming. "Are you alright, Bokuto?"

"Yeah, I just- er- I just had a bit of a strange dream." Bokuto chuckled. "Sorry, guess I'm just kinda loud in the morning."

"Do you wanna talk about your dream?" Y/N tilted his head slightly to the side. "I know that whenever I have weird dreams it makes me feel a bit better to write them down or talk about them."

Bokuto blushed. "N-no I'm fine, we should probably get ready for school though." Bokuto laughed awkwardly.

The two got ready for school, but all the while Bokuto couldn't help but think about his dream, which was more of a nightmare. In his dream, Y/N had gotten hurt and there wasn't anything that Bokuto could do to help.

Bokuto couldn't help but be confused by how much Y/N seemed to consume his thoughts. Why did his stomach feel like it was full of butterflies whenever he was near Y/N? Since Bokuto couldn't seem to figure out his feelings, surely Akaashi, or someone else on the volleyball team, would know something about how he felt.

After an awkwardly silent breakfast, the two headed outside and began walking to school.

"Hey, Bokuto, would it be alright if I went to get Taguchi and walked to school with him?" Y/N asked, finally breaking the silence.

"Hm? Yeah that's totally fine, guess I'll see you at school!" Bokuto waved to Y/N once the tall male turned around and began walking towards his house. Y/N promptly waved back at Bokuto.

Once Y/N managed to reach his house, he gently knocked on the door, only to see Taguchi, who only seemed to have a small bruise on the side of his cheek. "Oh hey Y/N, I thought that you would've already walked to school with Bokuto by now."

"I thought that I should check on you and make sure that you're actually coming to school." Y/N stated blankly.

"Well, perfect timing since I was about to leave." Taguchi said, grabbing his school bag which had been tossed onto the floor the night before.

The twins began to walk to school together, and yet another awkward silence formed around Y/N. Taguchi eventually decided to break the silence after 5 minutes of walking. "Hey, Y/N? Have you ever wondered what actually happened to dad?"

"Not really, I mean mom said that he died in a car crash when we were younger, right?" Y/N's voice was quiet. This was not something that he wanted to be talking about this early in the morning.

"Well I was thinking, what if he wasn't actually dead?" Taguchi mumbled.

Y/N stopped dead in his tracks, Taguchi stopped shortly after him. "Weren't you the one who said that even if he wasn't dead, he'd still be dead to you?" Y/N sighed. "Why are you even talking about this? There isn't anything about this that's worth talking about."

"Well, er-" Taguchi cleared his throat. "What if I went through some of our birthgiver's secret documents because she left them laying on the floor and I found out stuff that I definitely was not supposed to know?"

Y/N's eyes widened. "I don't know you found out, but you better explain all of it fast before we get to school."

...

Bokuto was noticeably fidgeting throughout the morning practice. Akaashi could easily notice how Bokuto's eyes seemed to dart around the room, and how Bokuto couldn't seem to get himself properly coordinated.

Akaashi tried to avoid confronting Bokuto for as long as he could in a hope that he could sort himself out, but he was practically forced into confronting Bokuto when both Yukie and Konoha asked him to do so.

"Bokuto-san, are you alright?" Akaashi asked at the end of morning practice.

"Oh, Akaashi, hey." Bokuto mumbled, seemingly deep in thought, which promptly worried Akaashi.

"What's wrong? You seem upset." Akaashi asked, trying his best to get Bokuto to explain his unusual behavior.

"Well I've been thinking-" Bokuto started, "-thinking a lot about one person in specific, and whenever I'm around him I just feel all weird and happy. I'm not really sure what I think about him but I think that it's good. The only thing is that I just feel like he's so perfect and amazing in general but he obviously doesn't think that about himself and that makes me kind of upset? I don't understand what I'm feeling at all and I don't even fully understand how to put it into words."

"It sounds to me like you're in love with whoever this person is." Akaashi responded.

Bokuto's eyes widened, and his cheeks flared up to a light pink color. "I think that you might be right Akaashi." Bokuto paused. "Th-thanks, Akaashi, I just don't really know what to do from here."

"Well, maybe you should try telling him? Perhaps whoever this is feels the same way as you do." Akaashi smiled at Bokuto, who's eyes had lit up at Akaashi's response.

"You're so smart Akaashi!" Bokuto beamed. "I should do just that, I'll try to talk to him soon so that I can tell him."

"Good luck, Bokuto-san." Akaashi smiled at Bokuto once more, before walking off to his first class of the day.
