His leg was being clamped by a bear trap. He wasn't bleeding as far as I could tell but he was in a lot of pain which was a relief. His boots and pants seemed to have protected him.

How were we gonna get him out?

Moto and I cautiously walked over to Katayama. He didn't seem to be bleeding but we was certainly in a lot of pain. Katayama was clenching his teeth and kept trying to grip onto the carpet underneath him. However, it was too thin.

"How do you get someone out of this?" Moto asked, crouching besides the trap.

I shrugged at her answer. She grabbed both ends of the traps and tried to pull it open, which didn't seem to be of much use. The trap wasn't budging. We took one side of each jaw to try and pry the thing open. It didn't seem to budge.

Miyazato and Tachibana soon found us upstairs and decided to join us in helping Katayama.

".. a bear trap?" Tachibana questioned. He studied the trap closely. He didn't seem to have any ideas on what to do. So we all turned to Miyazato. He was the ultimate polymath afterall.

"Don't look at me." Miyazato threw his hands up in a defensive manner, "I never went hunting."

So we were at a loss. Miyazato and Tachibana soon took our place in trying to pry the bear trap open, but it didn't work either. I guess these things were designed with good intent on keeping it's prey trapped.

...

We had to have been up there for another thirty minutes before everyone else came upstairs. Chifuyu and Sato hid around the corner watching while the rest of us were trying to figure out how to get him out.

"¡Digo que la amputamos!" Jimenez eagerly suggested.

"Jimenez is suggesting we amputate his leg.. which isn't too bad of an idea." Suzuki put a hand on his chin. Thinking over the idea. It's nice the three have gotten close enough to understand Spanish. I should talk to them more often, it would help with understanding Jimenez.

"You guys haven't tried pushing on the springs?" Chifuyu made us all jump a little. Even Katayama who ended up hurting himself more in the process of being scared.

".. the springs?" Hara questioned.

Chifuyu rolled her eyes and walked over to the bear trap. She pressing on a spring-like contraption with her foot, using her body weight as pressure to keep it down.

This worked? The trap had started to loosen up, which gave us time to pull Katayama's leg out of the trap. Not without a bit of force though.

Once Katayama was out of the trap Miyazato was quick to put him in Haruka's old room. We did our best to get his boot off with limited pain but it was near impossible to do so. We had to go through several layers of clothing before we reached his bare skin.

It had swelled up and the parts where the trap had shut onto his leg was bruising as well. Miyazato touched Katayama's leg with care, though he still shot up in pain. Which just caused for more pain on Katayama's end of things.

"I think it might be broken." Miyazato said. He continued to look at the leg but it was clear his mind was made up.

"It's broken??" Tachibana asked.

Concern for Katayama was rising quickly. We didn't have a medic who could care for him so what were we to do?

...

....

.....

I don't think there was anything we could do. Except leave him here to rest. What do you do when someone broke a leg?-
