Two new portraits were on the walls. Furukawa and Aimi's. Furukawa had messy ink on his portrait. It formed an X right over his face. Aimi had a giant smiley face smeared on top of her own. It was unsettling the more you looked at it. The court room had some minor changes to it as well. Small palm trees decorated either side of Monosara's chair. The room was also now yellow instead of blue.
Aimi would've liked this.
"So it's Sato-"
"It's not me dangit!" Sato cut off Chifuyu. The guy looked more than offended. "Every damn trial I get accused of the murder. I mean, a lot of you guys have been, but every single time the evidence gets pointed in my direction. For the love of god pick a new scapegoat!"
I didn't know what to say after Sato's small outburst. He was right. Every time without fail he was appointed as the killer. It was honestly getting sad.
"Well that does make good coverage for you..." Tachibana muttered. He looked to the side of the court room.
"... what." There was poison in Sato's voice.
"I mean, that makes you a more likely killer. By this point people would stop suspecting you." Tachibana said.
"... if that were the case, then why are people still blaming me?!" Sato asked.
Tachibana stayed silent. He didn't have an answer to that one.
"Okay, so Aimi was killed in her room. The body was located in her room's hallway between the entrance door and the bathroom door. The cause of death was a sniper rifle." I explained the details of the case.
"So a gun went off, that was found in Sato's room, who may I remind everyone is the ultimate marksman." Suzuki repeated my words. Yeah. Sato did not sound innocent in the slightest.
"It's not mine! I haven't picked up a gun in weeks!" Sato argued.
"Wait, I'm confused." Moto spoke up, "how was Sato able to shoot the gun and cut off the power?"
That was a fair point. As soon as we heard the gun shot the power had been cut. So how did they do that? Then there was the case of us only hearing one gun being fired. There were so many questions in this case. We needed to break them down but by bit but how?
"For the last time it wasn't me!" Sato yelled at the smaller boy.
"And? What proof do you have?" Tachibana argued back.
"Hold on a second!" I called out, "it couldn't have been Sato. He was in the painting."
"And?" Chifuyu questioned. She waited for me to continue my thought.
"Well, think about it. Sato couldn't have killed Aimi and shot at Miyazato. To do that he would of needed to have shif at Aimi from the outside then miraculously make it behind the hotel to cut the power." I explained, "so can we please stop blaming Sato?"
"I don't see why we can't continue." Hara added, "I mean, he could've don't just that then ran upstairs to hide in the... what did you say?"
"A painting." I answered, "while looking around we found Sato behind that creepy clown painting in the children's room. There was a crawl space behind it."
"Wait so Sato isn't the killer?" Moto asked.
"That's what I've been saying!"
"cállate."
"This story doesn't make sense." Chifuyu huffed.
"That's what I'm saying."
"All good stories need to make some kind of sense."
