I found Miyazato and Jimenez on the rooftop. Jimenez looked over at me, she seemed to be holding something.
I used my eyes to ask if it was okay to come over. With everything that had just went down, with everything that me and Miyazato just caused, I wouldn't blame Jimenez if she wanted me to leave her alone.
"Take the seat."
What was that? I looked over to Jimenez who was talking into a small device. I walked over and it didn't look like much. Just a small metal box with a microphone that Jimenez was talking into. It was about as big as a phone.
"You like it? It's a translator," Miyazato explained, "A lot of my helmet was broken but parts of it survived. Along with the device that translated out what I was saying."
"Boobs. Boobs. Boobs." Jimenez repeated into the device.
"It doesn't translate everything so she might sound a bit weird.. also no. I don't know if that's a malfunction or if she's really saying that." Miyazato sighed as Jimenez continued to repeat the words with a laugh, "it goes both ways so we can talk to her too."
I chuckled a bit and sat down. I suppose the two have made up but.. Jimenez... it was still my fault that her two friends were dead. I didn't want to overlook that fact.
".. I'm sorry, Jimenez. I didn't know that Tachibana would end up doing all of that and-" Jimenez shoved the translator into my face before I continued. Oh right.. I took the translator and repeated my apology.
"I'm sorry, Jimenez. I didn't mean for Hara and Suzuki to be killed, it's all my fault. I know Tachibana was the one that killed them but I was still the one who told Tachibana that those two were talking about the mastermind and made them seem all suspicious. I really threw them under the bus for that one. And then I went and-" I continued to spew words. I wasn't even sure what I was saying. I did so many things wrong it's was my fault.
It was my fault.
It was all my fault...
Jimenez didn't think so though. She hugged me. She hugged me tightly. I looked down at her. Her head was digging into the sides of my clothes. How nice was that. Jimenez gently took the translated back and started to speak into it.
"That was wrong of you," Jimenez started. I tilted my head down, guilty. She knew I was. "But you're a good person." Jimenez continued.
I looked at her. She had since detached herself from me and was smiling. I suppose she wasn't able to do much else. I suppose I wasn't entirely to blame. She hadn't forgiven me. Jimenez didn't need to. However, we were still friends. Or at least friendly with one another. That was good enough.
Miyazato rested his head onto mine. I hadn't realized how tall we was. Even when sitting down... I leaned in and placed my head on his shoulder too. Jimenez joined in and leaned against me too.
I don't know how long we were sitting there. Together. Alone. All we needed was one more minute. And the universe waited for us. Just a minute though.
