So in this story there are two types of soulmates. Each gets there mark at 15 most prefer to hid it so that nothing happens to a current on going relationship.
Firstly each soulmate has a mark that symbolizes them on there partner for ex.
Luz = Otter
Amity = pink gem
Secondly is scars. When you get a Scar so dose your soulmate you also can feel there pain but it's dulled down now if the person never gets a Scar then it is possible for them to never find there soulmate. This only works with a Scar so the person won't feel any minor injuries for ex.
Hunter = Scar on his cheek
Edric = Scar on his cheek
It is very rare to get both but those who do are considered to have a stronger connection than most
