JUNE 20TH
FIFTEEN WEEKS

"Good morning princess." Hope said when she first started stirring in her sleep, eyes still closed. Trying to avoid the sun shining through the window.

She turned around in the bed, trying to spoon Josie, "Not good and not a morning." Josie's raspy tired voice said. "What's wrong, princess?" Hope immediately sat up, worriedly.

"I couldn't sleep, since that moment in dinner they've been restless and with my belly being like this... I can't even find a good position to be in. Everything hurts."

"I'm sorry... I wish I could help but that's just how pregnancies usually are." Hope tried helping which wasn't much but Josie was glad that she had someone like the aubrenette by her side.

"I just feel so bloated and full and I haven't even eaten that much lately." The neuro immediately scoffed, "When will you understand that you're the most beautiful person on this planet, even while pregnant. And you not eating isn't good. Talk to Vincent, please."

Hope almost begged, her gaze soft, Fearing. She can't lose Josie... not for something like this.

"Fine." Josie sighed, locking eyes with Hope and going back to their cuddling position.
Until at some point Hope said something again, "We should go down at some point, my mom makes amazing breakfasts."

"And I'm not letting my family starve..." the aubrenette added, "which one?" Josie chuckled whilst Hope got out of bed and went to dress up. She turned and a gave Josie a look, a 'are you serious' kind of look.

"Both." She raised her eyebrow.

Then a beep was heard, coming from Josie's phone on the nightstand, she quickly went to check it in the time that Hope entered her bathroom.

"Shit, I can't believe I forgot... No. No." Hooe suddenly heard mutters and ran back to the room, her toothbrush in hand while having toothpaste inside her mouth.

"What happened?" She questioned, while still having the toothpaste in her mouth, it didn't sound like actual words. More like Hope just typed a key smash in her brain. Which made Josie immediately burst out laughing.

Hope shrugged as her and went back to the bathroom to wash it away, when she returned she asked again. "I totally forgot about lunch with my mom today... and she's also bringing her friends aka my aunt and uncle, you know Elena and Stefan, right?"

"Yeah of course, she's an amazing doctor. And a great drinking buddy." Hope sat on the bed, her gaze locked on Josie's hand that was currently rubbing her belly for comfort.

"Well I have to be there for lunch I'm three hours, and I'm too scared of my mom noticing. I've canceled all our plans lately... she won't let me pass on this one." The brunette explained, sad expression taking over her face along with a pout.

"Well then I'll come with you..." Hope softened, offering the intern a comforting hand during it.

"Well then let's get ready, my mom lives almost two hours from here." Josie said, struggling to stand up and eventually taking Hope's assistant at lifting her up.

Once they were all set, they sneaked out of the house. Hope rathers not deal with two families at her neck for one day.

The ride there is pretty silent except for the music Josie played from her phone, which the brunette sometimes sang along too and left the Mikaelson admiring from the side at the beautiful tune of her voice.

When at arrival Josie was wrapped into a hug the second she walked through, from her uncle Stefan. "Hey, uncle Stefan." She whispered at his ear as she was squeezed by him. "Let the poor girl go, babe. You're killing her." Elena said behind him.

Once he pulled away Josie was able to get a good look at her beloved aunt, "Hey, Jo." She gave her a genuine smile.

Pulled to another tight hug, Josie smiled with her head resting on the other brunette's shoulders. Hope smiled at the beautiful interactions from the door. Feeling like it's not her place to say anything yet.

"What are you doing there? Come on, every friend of Josie's is a friend of ours." Stefan softly spoke, turning to the neuro who looked sweating and nervous at the moment. Hope quietly walked in before the group of four heard voices from the kitchen.

Jo walked in, "There she is, the missing daughter has returned home." The young brunette smiled widely at the appearance of her mother. "I was gone for that long..." Josie earned a chuckle from her family.

"Never do that again." Jo said before embracing her daughter. Having to pull away when a loud gasp was heard.

"Jo! Are you pregnant?" Elena almost screamed, and that's when Josie went all awkward, weirdly, "What? No! Why would I be pregnant?" Josie started stressing, glancing at an even more nervous Hope.

"Jo... I'm a doctor, you can't hide things like this from me. I had two pregnancies to remind you, and your bump is pretty clear. How far along are you?" Elena questioned the intern.

"Jo?" The brunette turned to face her mother, who currently had an unreadable expression. "I-" she tried moving her gaze to all the different faces around the room.

Not a second later and she just ran to her room. "Josie-" Hope was stopped by Stefan who grabbed her bicep and stopped her. "Don't. Give her time." He explained.

Jo was the one who left, walking towards the guest room that still holds some of the intern's old things.

"Josie?" She slightly opened the door, Hearing sobs. When she walked in, her heart broke over the sight of her daughter. Who was currently laying down on her side while caressing the larger stomach that Jo has only taken notice to now.

"Go away. I don’t need to be a disappointment to yet another family." The brunette said between sobs, hugging her old stuffed animal that she keeps in here. Jo hesitated, not knowing if this is one of the situations where her daughter needs comfort, or time.

Settling on staying.
