Farewell, City of Contracts

Liyue. The country just South from Mondstadt, a place of wealth, culture, historical relics and most of all, what they're most known for, contracts. The first one was made millennials ago, by the Geo Archon named Morax, or as his people called him, Rex Lapis. Now, when the Archaic Lord had officially resigned from his duty, the people of Liyue had to get used to their own lives, one without a deity's guardianship. Yet, they failed to realize said deity was still watching them amidst the crowd, proud of their achievements throughout time.

You yawned internally as a curt response to that roaming line of thought, feeling bored from all those long and dull classes of History you would always be forced to listen to at Liyue's lecture halls. Yanfei's a good teacher, you thought silently, but maybe she isn't fitting for anything else but law. The same thing can't be said towards someone else you knew, though, for he had an interestingly large amount of knowledge, but unfortunately he's not here today, right when...

"You're leaving already, Y/N!??" A distressful female voice echoed throughout the living-space, showing her surprise as well as the obvious amount of panic laced along her tones. You sighed, mentally making a note to make sure they're in a desolated room before you ever announce anything next time.

"Yeah, sorry for telling you a bit late, Hu Tao. But the Traveler said she'll be heading to Inazuma, and I hadn't seen that place for so long..."

Your sheepish grin and that shy gesture made Hu Tao giggled, feeling a bit nostalgic from the first day you both met, as she and her Grandfather merely saw you and your family at the docks, nearly a decade in the past.

The prankster guided you into the busy life in Liyue, being one of the few companies whom you enjoyed their presence. You and Hu Tao tried to be more than friends, but it never worked out, as several factors existing in both of your life... didn't allow that to happen.

Though, she and you remained the closest of friends, with Hu Tao herself already found a new love interest, as foreign as he may be. Hair as red as ripe tomatoes, and mismatched eyes radiating an entrancing charm... and no, we are not talking about Mondstadt's wine industry tycoon known as Diluc Ragvindr, for his ordeals remained in his own privacy. It was someone called... Asa..? You couldn't recall correctly, so you just pushed it away from your train of thoughts.

"Well, it's fine. Just remember to pay good ol' Tao Tao a visit whenever you come back to Liyue, alright!? I'm always waiting for souvenirs!" You chuckled at her exclamation, before giving her cheek a light pinch. I'll miss this feeling, you silently thought, knowing it will be a fair amount of time before you can re-encounter the 77th Wangsheng Funeral Director once more.

"I know. I'll bring you some Sakura Bloom from Grand Narukami Island, as promised."

Hu Tao's expression brightened even more from hearing your request, since she always wanted to have some of her own to decorate her dull-looking parlor.

Those Sakura Blooms were introduced to her when you came to the Harbor, fresh off the boat and still had the remnant of rain and lightning. And in a small necklace, there laid those beautiful petals, attached alongside their presence were profound memories of home. Also...

"Mou, you don't have to treat me like an actual Hime, Y/N!!!"

...a scent of loving embraces.
"Y/N? Are you okay?" Hu Tao's slim hand began waving infront of your sight, snapping and clicking constantly to awaken you from your small trip down memory lane. You fell back to earth momentarily, shaking your head to get rid of that hazy feeling which always accompanied daydreams and fantasies of a human mind.

"Yeah... just had some... deja vu..."

Your vague response worried the young Director, as she continued to press another question on you.
