Mornings. If Stiles could murder them, he would.
Mornings sucked to begin with, but now he was throwing up everytime the sun shown through his windows. Stiles officially wanted this baby out of him for his own sanity. Sadly, it was barely past month one.
Deaton was coming by for a check-up today just to make sure everything was going smoothly and Stiles wasn't overworking himself.
"Stiles!"
Stiles fumbled with his phone and dropped it as he heard his name being called from downstairs. He looked up to see that the clock already said 11:34. He was supposed to let Deaton in at 11:30.
"Oh shit." Then louder, "Coming!"
He raced down the stairs as fast as could without tripping. It was definitely slower than what he used to do, but then again, he used to fall down the stairs half the time.
The lock undid with a click as he opened it for Dr. Deaton. "I'm so sorry! I got up early today and was working on a book and then I got distracted because Scott texted me again, I still haven't responded to anyone's calls or texts, and then I heard you yelling and realized I had lost track of time and- I'm so sorry. "
Deaton had learned that if you wanted to talk to Stiles properly, you needed to let him finish his rambling. But sometimes you need to cut it off otherwise it will go on forever.
Stiles was very grateful that Deaton let him rant on. Back in Beacon Hills, Derek would stop Stiles' rants so he could get a word in; stopping Stiles from talking reminded him of Derek and he would end up crying.
"Well, perhaps you could tell me about that book you're writing while I look you over."

"You know, I have a friend that's a publisher, he might be interested in your book. "
"Deaton, it's a story about werewolves. I know what I'm writing about, but I added in vampires for fun. I don't know how many people will still want to read a story about werewolves and vampires."
"My friend may be interested in it for that very fact. He and I trained together to become Druids, so he knows a lot about the supernatural. I think publishing a story that is correct about werewolves might give a sense of truth on the vampire part. You know what you're talking about when writing about the werewolves which means what you say about vampires would appear more correct."
".....So you're saying that if vampires turn out to be real, I'd be the person with the most information?"
Deaton chose not to answer Stiles's question and began packing up his things. "If you send me a copy of the story, I can send it in to him to see if it could be approved. "
Stiles walked towards the door with Dr. Deaton. "I'll email it to you sometime this week; today is my only free day so I'm gonna get some stuff done. "
"Alright, " Deaton was now standing outside the door with his car keys in hand, "although, if I may make a suggestion? Try online teasers, a lot of good authors start there. I'm sure you could make a social media page where you talk about the books and what happens. I've seen many photos or 'memes' that make me interested in a book. With your ADHD, I have no doubt you could learn to be an animator if you wanted to step it up a bit. "
"I thought you were a vet. "
"Vet, Druid, published-under-a-fake-name-
author- it all begins to sound the same. Have a good day Stiles. "Before Stiles had a chance to ask any questions, Dr. Deaton was driving away in his car.
