'Eve,
I hope you get this before it's too late. You need to run Eve, away from wherever you are and you must not stop running until I find you. I'm alive, Eve, I'm okay. I wish I could've told you, stopped you from feeling the way you do right now, but I couldn't risk you being in even more danger. You needed me to be dead almost as much as they did.
They won't find out for a while yet, but I cannot take any chances with you, I need you to stay alive, otherwise what it this point to this mind-numbingly boring existence? I miss you. I haven't even left you yet, you're asleep in the room next door, but I miss you. I know I will be missing you more than I could ever imagine. So stay alive for me.
Along with this letter you will find a debit card with £50,000 deposited on it. I need you to use only this card until I find you. If you need the card topping up call this number and ask for 'Valerie Sinclair to meet you for high tea at noon', they will deposit a further £50,000.
You're a smart woman, Eve, so I know you will have no trouble in following this intricate little treasure hunt I have made for you. Don't laugh, I've been working on this for a while. I know only you will understand the clues I leave. The first one waits for you in Paris, my old apartment. Well, not the apartment so much as the letter box. Find a way into it, there's a fake back to it, behind you will find instructions on where the next clue lies. I know this sounds ridiculous and over the top but who am I if not those two things? Anyway, I can't just write down my address, what if someone steals this letter, or worse, what if you're killed and they pull this letter from your corpse? I can't run that risk Eve, I will not lose you.
You are the reason I am doing this Eve, once this is over, we will start a new life together, I'll make you breakfast, we'll go shopping together, whatever we want to do, but first you must do this Eve, it's the only safe way I can think of. Plus, if I'm being honest, it was quite fun to plan, a welcome distraction from the normality of my life.
Watch your back like a hawk Eve, others already are. Find me soon, I miss you. Yours, V. X '
Eve read the letter again, and again... and again. Then, saying nothing, she put on her coat and went for a walk. Pam followed slowly behind her.
End of Chapter Three.
Hope you guys are enjoying so far!!! Sorry this chapter is so short, I've only just come back from holiday. See you next Sunday for a longer instalment... x
