Home Field Advantage

Chapter 2

The drive home was short. We live about 10 minutes away from the Spring Hill High field.

Erik came with us, which was pretty normal. There is a 15% chance that when there is a home game, Erik is riding with his parents. The entirety of the ride consisted of Liam bombarding me with game strategies and different plays that he has been thinking of.
And to say I missed this would be... actually I didn't miss it. Just because I was out with an injury didn't stop Liam and the rest of the team to bounce ideas off me.
It's not like they were bad ideas or out of this world impossible, they were promising and possibly it was just I couldn't be apart of them. So I guess it was kinda nice to be included now.

When we arrived home we are greeted by Chance, our dog.
Oh and my sister but Chance is more exciting.
As my dad unlocks and open the door Chance sprints to greet us. We give him his well deserved pets, and Liam quickly closes the door before Chance could escape.

Liam goes straight to the bathroom, assumably to shower.
I roll my eyes and follow my parents and Erik to the living room. I see my younger sister, Olive, watching some reality show, maybe Love Island, with a blanket on her lap, looking oh so comfortable.

I nod at Erik with a smirk, then charge towards her jumping on her. She lets out a grunt then squirms underneath me trying to me off her.
"Jesus Christ Leo!" She complains. "You're like a million pounds!"
I laugh, finally getting off of her, sitting up right but still not giving her any space.
I rest my head on her shoulder finally seeing what she's watching, not love island, some stupid reality Netflix show.

I roll my eyes, "Olive why do you watch these stupid shows?" I ask.
"They're not stupid! It's really good!" She explained.
I scoff. "You do know these shows aren't real. It's all just for television, these aren't real people problems."
"Of course I know that but it does what it's supposed to do, entertain." She sasses.

Erik walks over and squeezes himself on Olive's right, now giving her no room. He puts his arm around her enhancing their contact, she stiffened, I could feel it but she didn't move his arm.
"So what's the point in this show anyways?" Erik asks.
I look up at her trying to read her face. She looks a little nervous but not uncomfortable.

She clears her throat and responds, "It's called Too Hot To Handle, they have to spend a few weeks on the island to build emotional connections with each other instead of sexual and if they kiss or do anything remotely sexual they lose money."
I fake a dramatic yawn, she elbows me in the side.
"It's a good show!" She exclaimed.
"I didn't say anything" I said raising my hands in defense. Erik laughed.

"Leo! ¡Ven aqui!" I hear my mom yell from the kitchen.
"Coming!" I rely, getting up and making my way to the kitchen.

I walk in seeing my mom cooking and my dad sitting at the island eating.
"You called?" I say smiling as I lean against the counter. "Yes I called, are you going to eat?" She asks.
"Well I need to eat to live mother." I respond. She looks up at me.
"Oh haha your so funny," she mocks "I'm serious. Do you want to eat?"
"Yes! Yes I want to eat." I laugh.
"Okay, go as Erik if he's hungry." She demands placing plates full of food in our dining nook.

"Why? He doesn't live here." I joke. She looks up again, this time grabbing a rag and hitting me with it. " 'He doesn't live here' go ask him!" She demands again.
I laugh with my hands in the air, walking back into the living room.

"Hey my mom wants to know if you want anything to eat?" I announce as I walk into the room.
Erik is still sitting on the couch with his arm still around Olive. It looks like they were in the middle of a conversation.

I thought he would've moved by now but okay.

He looks over at me, startled, and takes his arm off of her.
I was a little confused but didn't show it. I shake my head as if to say 'well?'
He finally replied "Oh uh y-yeah. I can eat." He got up and walked past me to the kitchen.
