Did you like your flowers ?

Mila 💜

I sent you flowers yesterday

Mila 💜
didn't get them..

Furrowing his eyebrows, Kai closed his phone and put it into his pocket before walking over to his dresser. He grabbed his brush and walked out of his room. As he walked into the living room, he saw his mother sitting on the sofa doing his little sister Delina's hair.

"See you later mama." He bent down to kiss her cheek before nudging Delina's head. "Bye Lina."

"You finna go to work?" Delina looked up at her older brother.

"Yea."

"Alright, can I play your game while you gone?" She asked, referring to his xbox.

"Yeah, just don't go in my room with no drinks. I don't want another accident to happen."

"Mama tell him leave the past in the past." Delina made a face. "That wasn't my fault. Get over it."

"Come on, Lina put your head down so I can finish." His mother said, not getting in the middle of that argument again.

"Just do like I said. Ima see y'all later around like eight."

"Okay, tell Mr. Haney hello for me."

Kai left out of his mother's home, locking the door behind him, and walked over to his perfectly parked matte ascot green 2022 Kia Stinger Gt2. He unlocked the doors and got in, making his way over to the shop. After getting there, he parked in the back and went in through the back door.

"Boss man?"

"Hey Kai, you in here again?"

"Yup."

"Did your girlfriend like her flowers?"

"She said she didn't get them."

"I delivered them to the young lady yesterday like you asked me to."

"Did you hand them to her?"

"I tried knocking, but no one answered the door so I just sat them in front of the door and rang the doorbell again before I left."

"Hmm."

"I'll try to send them again. Maybe she didn't like those and just didn't know how to tell me."

"I'm telling you, girls like roses." Mr. Haney shook his head, still focused on the arrangement he was making. "Should've went with the roses."

"Okay, fine. I'll go with the roses this time, but if she doesn't like these I'll go with a different flower type."

"Good, now get your flowers and get on up out of here unless you trying to stay and help me."

"That's another reason why I came to talk to you. Can I work here while I'm on break?"

"Yes, of course. You know you're always welcomed to work here anytime."

"Good looking out, man. I appreciate it." Kai smiled.

"Yeah, yeah."

"I think I might stay this time. Being a broke not broke college student is draining when you have to prioritize your money." Kai said shaking his head. "It ain't for the weak."

"I could've told you that. That right there ain't no joke."

"I'm seriously starting to figure that out." Kai focused his attention to the lit up computer screen in which showcased another order. "You working on 63 Newbridge Court?"

"Yeah."

"Alright we just got another order in from 2804 Tanglewood Drive. I'm about to start on that one."

Kai worked the whole day until the store closed at 7. He made Mila another arrangement of flowers just before leaving, and he was really hoping these roses would be the thing that gets Mila to show him more attention.

Ever since getting her number, she barely texts back, never answers any calls, dry texts, leaves him on read or delivered, and more. If he didn't know any better, he'd think she didn't actually like him and was just trying to spare his feelings at the party.

Grabbing the bouquet of flowers, he locked up the shop and got in his car. Watching to make sure Mr. Haney got into his son's car safely, he honked the horn at Mitchell as a way to say goodbye before driving off himself. He allowed his music to blast throughout his car as he followed the directions on his phone to get to Mila's house. He parked the car along the curb in front of the house and went to his phone to double check and make sure he was at the right address.

"No one's even here." Kai spoke out to himself.

He shook his head and made his way up to the doorstep anyway, sitting the flowers in front of the door. He took his phone out of his pocket and went to the camera app. He snapped a picture of the flowers before sending the picture to Mila. Since he dropped them off himself, he knew for sure she'd get them.

Second times the charm. No way she can resist these. He thought to himself.
