"Boss mannn." Kai smiled as he walked into the shop.

"Hey Kai, how you doin?"

"I'm fine Mr. Haney, how are you?"

Mr. Haney is Kai's neighbor and the owner of the florist Kai works at whenever he needs a job. Ever since Kai saved his five year old grandson from drowning three years ago, he's given Kai a place to work whenever he wanted it... no questions asked.

"I'm hanging in there. How's school going?" He asked, grabbing some tulips and setting them in a vase.

"Good. I passed all my finals so I'm done with this semester... finally."

"That's good, man. I know you're making your parents proud."

"Yeah. I just can't wait to finally get in the field and really make them proud, ya know?" Kai leaned against the counter and watched Mr. Haney work. "I owe them the world. I wouldn't be standing here today if it weren't for them and I want to show them just how much I appreciate the life they've given me, as well as I do them, by actually making some money and taking care of them. Grades aren't compatible enough with sacrifice to me and they've done more than a lot of that."

"And you'll get there before you know it. You're a very smart and talented kid, there's nothing you can't do." Mr. Haney pulled his attention from his flowers and looked up at Kai. "But until then, why don't you help me with these orders? I'm backed up here."

"I still don't understand why you don't hire more people." Kai shook his head as he walked over to the computer to look at all the orders that were placed. "You can't do this alone."

"I'm not alone. You're here."

"You know what I mean, Boss."

"Yeah I know, but I got it under control."

"You're getting old Mr. Haney you need the help. Stop being so stubborn."

"I'm not."

"You know Haylee wouldn't like like this."

Haylee was the only daughter of Mr. Haney, the mother of the grandson in which Kai saved from drowning. Haylee died of a tumor just before her son's fourth birthday, and she was the only one who could get Mr. Haney to hire some help around the shop. Once she died, he didn't care about any help because he just doesn't think anyone is enthusiastic about flowers and plants enough to run the shop with him besides Kai, which is kind of true. Everyone is just looking for work to make money and doesn't even care about the well being of the flowers in the shop nor getting the customer's order right. The only reason he allowed workers before was because Haylee forced them upon him.

"I'll be fine Kai."

"Alright. But I need a favor because I can't stay long." Kai said as he smiled from the message he just received.

"What?"

"Can you deliver a bouquet of flowers for me tomorrow? I'll arrange and pay for them tonight before I leave, I just won't have time to do it myself tomorrow."

"Roses?"

"Nah, that's basic. I was thinking about combining some blush pink peonies and lisianthus."

"Your sure? Not too many people like those flowers." Mr. Haney asked with concern. "They aren't our best seller here."

"That's because not too many people know about them, but I'll make sure this girl knows."

"You went and picked up a girlfriend back at school huh? I see you kid." Mr. Haney joked.

"Something like that." Kai laughed. "I want to make her my girlfriend, so I have to make sure the bouquet of flowers is perfect."

"I'm sure she'll love them. You're a thoughtful young man, you know that?"

"I try to be. There's not too many men in the world still like this."

"Trust me. I know."

Once Kai was done finalizing the last order on the screen, he sat them all in a box so that it would be easier to get into the car to ship. However, before leaving, he had to make the perfect bouquet of flowers for Mila. He grabbed blush pink peonies and lavender lisianthus flowers and laid them out accordingly before topping them off with a eucalyptus leaf choice. He then grabbed a sheet of white splatter paper wrap and finished it off with the wrapping of the stems.

"Aye, boss. How this look?" He held the flowers up for him to see.

"I'm sure she'll love them."

"Yeah, I hope so." He ran his hands down his face.

"You really want this girl to like you, huh?"

"Yes. She's bad- beautiful, has nice hair that she always keeps straight or curled, big beautiful brown eyes, and a smile you can't resist."

"Sounds like she's the total package."

"Oh, most definitely."
