Phone Calls

Opening his eyes, Kai looked over at his phone to see that Luna had texted him. It had been six days since they'd last seen each other, but they'd been texting and calling each other ever since their encounter at the florist. If he's not mistaken, Luna actually seems interested in him. Not how Mila was, though. This seems genuine. She actually wants to FaceTime and call him all the time, texts him with enthusiasm, makes him laugh, texts within excruciating time frames, and more. He never thought he would get over his crush of Mila, but Luna was doing something to him. He didn't know what, but he liked it and he didn't want her to stop. This was an unfamiliar feeling to him, but he's loving every bit of it.

Seeing that Luna wanted him to call her whenever he woke up from his nap, he did as told and waited for her face to pop up on the screen.

"Damn, that was a long ass nap."

"I was tired as hell. Shit, still am."

"You have to work today?"

"Nope. The shop's closed on Sundays."

"Well, how about we go to the movies or something?"

"Ms. Luna, is this your way of asking me on a date?"

"Yea because your ass is taking way too long."

"Damn my fault." He chuckled, propping his phone up against his headboard. "I know y'all women like to take things slow so I'm just abiding by the rules."

"Well I'm not like most women." She raised an eyebrow. "I mean I would like to take it slow, but definitely not the slow you're thinking. Like I wanna get to know you and go on dates and hang out with you type of fast, but not get married type of fast ya know? I d-"

"Luna... you're rambling again."

"Oh, sorry.." She blushed, turning away from the camera.

If it's one thing Kai's learned about Luna, it's that she can talk her ass off. It's not a bad thing to him though. He actually finds it kind of adorable. He'd listen to her ramble even if it wasn't the last thing on Earth he had to do. She specially told him to let her know whenever she rambles because unlike Kai, Luna hates that specific trait about herself. She wouldn't stop if no one stopped her.

"Nah you know I don't mind, but how about we go to the bowling alley or something?"

"Ehh I'd rather not. You are not about to make a fool out of me."

"What you mean?" Kai laughed. "You're that trash?"

"I won't say that, but I won't say I'm the best neither."

"Which in more words translates tooo... you're trash."

"Okay fine. Yes." She frowned. "But it's only because up until I was like thirteen my dad used to cheat for me and help me win."

"How'd he do that?" A curious Kai asked, chuckling in the process.

"By playing for me so that I don't get gutters." She laughed. "I'm his only baby girl out out 4 children what do you expect? I deserve the absolute best and I deserve to win everything."

"Oh hell nah, now we definitely going to the bowling alley. Gotta get you outta that shit right now."

"Uhm, outta what shit sir? What you talking about?" She played confused.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about and you not finna be a spoiled lil brat with me." He said. "I bet you probably have a 2023 car blinged out with all name brand clothes and shoes and a master bedroom in your house that's not even intended to be the master bedroom."

"Well a 2 out of 3 isn't that bad. Good try tho." She smirked.

"Lemme guess. The one that's not true is the 2023 car?"

"Oh no indeed no. I love my 2023 Audi S7." She laughed. "I don't have allll name brand clothes, just a bit."

"Righhtt." He playfully shook his head. "Get ready for our date lil girl."

"Aye watch it now. I'm not lil."

"4'11 is very much little. Now get ready so I can come scoop you." Kai got out of his bed. "Just remember my Kia can't compete with your lil fancy Audi."
