It was great to be back in Oakland, even though I'd missed the scenery of Deep Creek, there was no place like home. I was seated in the living room of our home watching tv with Delilah, a cartoon show was being played, when abuela called for me. I trailed to the kitchen and saw her by the counter cutting vegetables.

She placed the knife down and turned to me, "Do you know whose birthday it is soon?"

"Uh it's not mine, neither is it yours. So no, I don't know." I stated. She turned back to cut the remaining vegetables and went over to the pot and poured them.

She walked back to me, "It's your granny's birthday." It was granny's birthday soon, can't believe I forgot.

"Oh my God! It is! So what do you want me to do?" I asked all giddy.

"I want you to plan the birthday, usually Henry and I do it but he's not in town so I want to give you the responsibility." Wow I was honored and excited that she trusted me with such an important thing, birthdays in our family were always very significant.

"Thank you abuela I won't let you down but it's soon and there is not enough time to plan and there's so much to be done, the decorations, I'm thinking a black and white theme—"

"Woah mi nieta. Just not too elaborate and more homely."

"Okay. I won't let you down and speaking of grandpa Henry, when exactly is he coming back?" I inquired. I assumed his little rendezvous would be over by now and I missed him.

"He would be back before Adesua's seventieth birthday." Abuela informed me.

"That's great!" I exclaimed. I was really excited to see him again, we were really close. I remembered the shenanigans we always got into, him, Stacey and Margaret were members of my prank team. I can't wait for the reunion of the Prankstarz. I turned and was about to leave when abuela spoke again.

"Oh you and Kyle should handle it, use this as an opportunity to strengthen your bond and no offense mi nieta but I don't trust you to not make it elaborate."

"Ah geez thanks abuela." I muttered dryly, she just patted my cheeks and went back to her work.

I went in search of Kyle because he didn't go to work today, said it was his day off. I went to his room but I couldn't find him. I search the whole house and I still couldn't find him. I was about to walk down the stairs when Valentina came out of her room and trailed toward the stairs, but she stopped when she spotted me.

"What now? Why are you standing there? Are you trying to push me? I mean I know we hate each other but the pain you caused me is enough. I'm begging you please leave me alone." She rambled.

Her nose still looked bad, it was a little swollen and had a blueish bruise. I still felt bad and had the need to explain to her a thousand times that it wasn't intentional.

"I'm so sorry Valentina, I swear it was entirely an accident. I didn't mean to hit you, I'm sorry."

"Yeah. Whatever. Please just stay away from me." She huffed and went down. I don't know who Valentina must have offended but she was getting it really bad, mishap strike once again as one moment she was walking down the stairs and the next she was tumbling right to the end.

"Ahhhh my ankle, my ankle...and my nose." She cried out. Everyone rushed out to see the commotion, I quickly went down to check on the sufferer so no one would get the idea that I pushed her.
