Moving on

6 months after Hyun's passing

Seokjin

"Lennon baby hurry up Uncle Jimin will be here soon", I say opening her door. "Do you have to work again Daddy", she asks closing her book and putting it on her shelf. "Yes love but only for a few hours, I have to cover for someone so I will be home before dinner, you and Jimin can watch that movie you two are always talking about", I say picking her up and holding her. "Ok, as long as you aren't gone all night", she says resting her head on my shoulder. When she hears the door she checks to make sure it's Jimin and let's him in, "I got the junk food, load up that movie baby girl." 

I laugh, "not to much junk food, I don't want it spoiling dinner but you two have fun and I'll be home soon." I kiss Lennon on the head and leave, when I get to the restaurant I am told I am working behind the bar today, so I change into my uniform and get ready for my shift. About an hour in who walks thru the door but Mr. Kim, Hyun's dad, he sits down in front of me, "hey Jinnie, tequila and beer please." "One of those nights huh, here you go", I say handing over the two glasses. 

"Yea, listening to Anna complain about Tae and how he doesn't care, that poor boy can't win with her no matter what he does, so he has just been shutting down lately and not even responding to either of us", he says throwing the shot back then taking a sip of his beer. "Dae, I know he adores you, I also know that his mom makes it hard for you two to communicate, Hyun wouldn't be happy knowing his death did this to his family, I don't really talk to Tae much, I should say he doesn't talk to me but I hear him when he talks to Lennon and I know he misses his family", I say wiping the bar again.

 "She is trying  to talk him into coming for the year anniversary and having a family thing, I don't know if he will come or not", he sounds so defeated. About two hours later Lannie comes in so I can leave, "thank you so much Jin, you are a lifesaver." She hugs me and I grab my stuff and leave, can't wait to get home to see my baby, walking into the apartment I don't hear anything, I see them both passed out on the couch. I cover them up and go upstairs to shower before making dinner, I check on them again before heading to the kitchen to cook. 

After we ate, Jimin went home and Lennon and I laid in bed together and read a book until we fell asleep, I miss Hyun but someone else has been invading my mind lately, Jisoo gave me a box that she found under Hyun's bed, they are letters that he wrote to me over the course of his illness, there is one addressed to Taehyung that I will give him next time I see him, I haven't opened any yet, I am afraid of what they will say.

Taehyung

"Hana get the fuck out of my apartment", I yell. "I can't believe you are breaking up with me", she cries. "You cheated on me, what else did you expect me to do, say thank you and invite you into my bed", I say angrily, "now get your shit and go." "You aren't around anymore, you ignore me what did you expect me to do Tae, please don't end this over one mistake", she pleads. I grab my beer and head upstairs, "you better be gone before I come back." "ASSHOLE", she screams. "Whatever, bye", I say.

 I can't believe her, she knows the shit I have been thru losing my brother, my mother treating me like an outcast and the one person who wants to be nice to me I keep pushing away because I am a fucking coward. The first time I laid eyes on Seokjin I wanted him but my brother was the lucky one, that's why I have been so cold and standoffish toward him, because I don't want him to see what I am truly feeling. My mother keeps bugging me about coming home for the anniversary of Hyun's death, I haven't decided yet if I am going to but my heart knows it wants to, no needs to see Jin, and of course Lennon, I miss my niece. 

I hear my phone ringing and when I find it I see it's my dad, "hello dad." "Hey Tae how have things been, how is work", he asks. "It's good, steady, how have you been", I ask sitting on the floor by my bed. "I'm okay son, I saw Jin tonight, he was working when I went in for my weekly drink", he says sounding tired. "How is he doing", I ask hesitantly. "He looks good as usual, still single", my dad chuckles. "Stop it, you aren't supposed to know", I say smirking. "Come home for the anniversary, I think he and Lennon really need you in their life Tae, don't do it for your mother or me, do it for Hyun and for Jin", he says.

 "I'll think about it, I still have a few months", I say. He was quiet for a minute, "okay son I'm heading to bed, you have a good night and we will talk soon." "Night dad", I say. I lay in bed, thinking of Jin, am I that transparent that even my dad knows my feelings, I love my brother more than anyone else on this planet but can't I make myself happy for once. The next day at work Hana blew up my phone, begging me to take her back, I finally had to shut my phone off because I couldn't get anything done.

 "She being a psycho now", Yoongi asks. "Pretty much, I don't know what world she lives in that she thinks I'd forgive her for cheating", I say finishing up the drawing of a tattoo I am doing later today. Yoongi is my boss and my best friend, when I moved here he hired me and we hit it off right away and became really good friends, I have dinner at his house with him and his wife Sina at least three times a week, because we were always together he ended up offering me a partner position in the shop, so we now own it together. I love my life here but I also know my life is missing something or maybe someone.
