A Brothers Wish

Seokjin

I received a text from Taehyung asking if we could meet, that he needs to talk to me about something important and to bring the one year anniversary of Hyun's death letter with me, I hope he doesn't think I am going to open it, I ask Jimin if Lennon can stay with him while I meet Tae.

Tae asked me to meet him at the record store that he and Hyun used to work at thru high school and college, it was their favorite place, they are both huge Beatles fans, hence our daughter being named after John Lennon, Hyun would tell me stories of him and Tae when they were younger and how they would pretend to be Lennon and McCartney and put on shows for their parents, I've actually seen pictures to prove it.

I walk into the familiar store, the smell of coffee and old vinyl records hits my nostrils bringing back a flood of memories, I see Tae sitting at a back table, his favorite actually, right under the Abbey Road poster that hangs on the wall. "Hi", he says standing, "thank you so much for coming."

I sit across from him and I see that he ordered me coffee already, "thank you for the coffee." "It's your favorite", he pulls a piece a paper out of his pocket and hands it to me, "this is my letter from Hyun, please read it." I hesitantly grab it and look at him, "are you sure, isn't this private." "Not at all, it has a lot to do with you", he smiles.

I take a deep breath and open the letter, immediately recognizing the handwriting, he wrote like a doctor, I couldn't help but to smile to myself. I cant believe what I am reading, he is pretty much asking Tae to be with me and be a second parent to Lennon and what's with the lawyers information, I read it over again making sure I read it correctly.

"Taehyung I am not sure what to say, I don't want you to feel forced or obligated to be with me or to be a parent to Lennon just because Hyun says so, it's bad enough I freaked you out enough yesterday for you to run out of my house like a man on fire", I say handing him the note back.

Taehyung

"Ugh, Jinnie, I am so sorry about that, I didn't really freak out, I think I was more embarrassed by the fact that my brother told you how I felt about you", I say with a red face. "Felt, as in past tense", he asks. "You already know the answer to that, the feelings are still there and if anything its stronger", I say confidently. The small smile on his lips and the blush on his cheeks lets me know how he feels but I need to hear it.

"What about you, do you feel an obligation or are the feelings my brother says you have for me still there", I tease. His eyes say everything, the feelings are still there and just like mine they have grown even more, "you can tell me, I have to know how you feel before I take this any further." "Hyun always drug me here and I never complained because I knew you were working and I could see you, even though you didn't talk to me and then I had to watch you flirt with every girl in here and I hated it."

"Why are you changing the subject", I tease. "My feelings are real Taehyung and they are definitely still there, you have always been into girls, why did you have feelings for me", he asks averting my gaze. "Do have feelings, not did and I was ashamed to admit it but they were just fillers, I didn't want any other guy but you, so the girls were there to help me not go crazy without out", I say. "Poor girls, I am sure you broke a lot of hearts Taehyungie, especially with that face", he laughs.

"I tried not to hurt them, some of them actually knew the truth and they were okay with it, but enough about that, I know now that we have feelings for each other and I know that Hyun is okay with it, I have to call the lawyer to ask him what my brother talked to him about, do you have any idea", I ask. "I don't, I'm just as confused as you", he says. I stand, taking his hand and making him stand with me, "go on a date with me, let's start our chapter now." He giggles, "when." "Right now, come on", I say pulling him along with me to the door, "what about my car." "We'll come back for it, I have an idea", I say as we walk hand in hand laughing.

Seokjin

Tae is quiet and smiling while holding my hand while we drive, I never thought this would ever happen, of course in my dreams I did but I thought I would feel more guilt, am I bad person because I love my late ex's brother. "Why are you thinking so hard over there", he says snapping me out of my thoughts. "I just, I just wonder if I'll be considered a horrible person for loving you", I say playing with his fingers. "Babe you are not horrible, no one could ever think you are horrible, you are amazing", he says kissing my hand.

He pulls up to the pier and we get out, "lets walk on the beach, I want us to get to know each other for real, no more walls, no more excuses." I smile and take his hand, we walk to the end of the pier and take our shoes off, we spent a few hours talking, laughing, playing in the sand and kissing, god he can kiss, it sparks a flame in me that I knew could never be extinguished. I jump on his back and he runs down the beach toward the car, as we put our shoes on he says, "do you feel you know me a little better now." I smile and nod, "one question, what happens to us when you go back home."
