Seeing Him Again

A year after Hyun's passing

Lennon and I pack her bag so that she can stay with Hyun's parents tonight, it's been a year since his death and his parents want everyone to come to their house this weekend and celebrate his life but Lennon is going over there tonight because I have to work the late shift at the restaurant. "I'll miss you daddy", Lennon says hugging me. "I'll miss you too baby girl but I'll be there in the morning to get you then we'll go to daddy's grave and say hi, okay", I say putting her coat on.

 It's October and it's getting cold already, I grab her bag and we leave, "come here Jinnie, how have you been, you don't come by anymore." I hug Anna, Hyun's mom. "I'm sorry, it's hard to come here still and plus I am so busy at the restaurant that most of the time I am exhausted", I say. "I understand but you will be here this weekend right, you and Lennon", she asks. "Yes, I took this weekend off so that I could be with you guys", I kiss Lennon again and walk out the door to my car. 

One thing that the Kim's never knew was that Hyun and I weren't a couple at the end, we were just good friends, his possessive antics took a toll on our relationship and we remained friends for Lennon sake, when he got sick he moved back in with his parents so that they could take care of him full time and I would be there when I didn't have to work, in the end of course I was devastated, he was Lennon's father and I loved him, he was the only family I had but he just couldn't love me like I deserved, his obsession of me took over his life.

The restaurant is pretty packed tonight so I jump right in and start taking orders, after a few hours the rush finally dies down a bit and I have a minute to take a break and get a drink, I lean against the counter and wonder if Taehyung decided to come this weekend, he stayed with me the night of the funeral, holding me in his arms and making me feel so safe and warm but in the morning he was gone and I felt a whole new loss. Taehyung has hated me from the beginning and I never knew why, I always tried to be civil to him but he always glared at me or ignored me or would not even participate in family functions because he knew I would be there, I just wish I knew why.

 I finish off my coke when I hear the bell above the door, I look up to see none other than Jeon Jungkook, he is best friends with Hyun and Tae. "Seokjin, holy shit, how have you been", he comes over and hugs me. "I've been good, long time no see how have you been, where are you living now", I ask. "New York, I came home to see Hyun, I know it's the year anniversary, how are you doing, how is Lennon, big I bet", he says with his hand on my lower back rubbing small circles. Kook and Hyun had a brief falling out when Hyun got jealous and  yelled at Jungkook to stay away from me, he thought Jungkook was flirting with me.

 I hear the bell again and all the air leaves the room along with my lungs, Taehyung walks in and fuck he looks so good. "Kook what are you doing, why are you touching him", Tae asks annoyed. "Wow it's like Hyun is here", Jungkook laughs, "last time I checked he's single and available." "Leave him alone and let's get a table", Taehyung says angrily. When Kook finally walks away to  Tae walks up to me, "hi, sorry he was bothering you." 

"He's not, it's good to see him, it's been to long, when did you get in", I ask. "About an hour ago, my stuff is still in the car, I might crash with Kook at his hotel", he says. "I have an extra room too, I know you probably don't want to stay with your parents", I giggle. "You are right about that, I'll think about it", he says walking toward Jungkook but looking back at me.

Taehyung

He's as beautiful as ever and to see Kook with his hands all over him pissed me off, I see him walking toward our table, "what can I get you guys." "Cheeseburger, fries and a beer", Jungkook says, "and your number." Jin smiles brightly then looks at me, "and you." "Same, except for the number, I have it already", I aim a smart ass response in Kook's direction. He rolls his eyes and looks at his phone, "I'll be back with your beers in a minute." I nod and give him a small smile, I watch him work, talking to other customers and his co-workers, he is so easy going and you can tell that everyone loves him. 

After we ate Kook got up and walked to the bathroom, I get up and walk over to the counter where Jin is, handing him the money for the bill. "All done", he asks. "Yea, keep the change, is the offer to stay in your extra room still available", I ask. "Of course, I know Lennon would love for you to stay, she misses you very much and would love to spend time with you", he says putting the money in the register. "I'll let you know what I decide", I say. He nods and turns running right into Jungkook who wraps his arms him, holding him so he doesn't fall, "I got you beautiful." "Oh gosh I am so sorry Jungkook", he says breathlessly. "No sorry needed, you can crash into me anytime", Kook flirts. 

"Can we go please", I say annoyed. Kook hugs Jin to him, "it was so good to see you again, I will see you at the Kim's on Saturday right." "Yes, I will be there, Lennon will be happy to see you", he says pulling away from Kook. "I'll text you Jin and let you know what I decide", I say walking out. Once outside, "seriously Jungkook why are you doing that, it's only been year since Hyun's death." "And, first of all Hyun passed not Jin, he is still alive and I am sure doesn't want to be alone forever in grief and secondly Jin and Hyun weren't even together the last 6 months of his life", Jungkook says hoping into my truck. "Excuse me, what did you say", I ask livid.
