chapter 1

the sound of the water hydrating the plants was always one of your favorite sounds. ever since you were younger you were always very interested in gardening, with your parents by your side to teach you.
growing up your family weren't the richest, you always envied the children who were able to afford toys. a childhood that you wish you had.
but just recently, you've heard of this mythical and special flower that grows in the chasms rocky cliffs. you knew that this was one of your only opportunities to prosperity. with some digging you were able to be given a chance to visit the chasm.

as you continued to take care of your plants in your humble little flower shop, a bell rang and footsteps approached you. "miss (name), everything's ready and set to go. just before we go... are you sure you want to embark on this journey? i mean, the chasm is very dangerous."

you simply responded with a small smile. "aili, you haven't forgotten that i'm fully capable of defending myself as a vision holder right?" at those words, aili's face heated up in shame. "of course i know that.. its just i'm worried about you." her fingers fidgeted with eachother nervously. "have trust in me, i promise ill come back alive."

you looked at your bracelet adorned wrist, it was a gift to you from your father, who was a miner. it consisted of beautiful notilucous jade and shiny cor lapis. you've kept it well maintained as it reminded you of your family. while you were deep in your thoughts, the horses in front of the carriage neighed as a sign of arrival.
here you were, at the entrance of the chasm.
as you carefully got off the carriage, your eyes sparkled in awe at the sight before you. the chasm was breath-taking, at least to you.

of course, you didn't forget your purpose at the chasm. but you have no clue of where to start looking for the flower except for a few rumors of it being on the highest point of the chasm. yet these rumors were conflicting, some said it was buried deep beneath the chasm's surface, others said it was hidden well by the cliffs of the chasm. this was going to be a gruesome journey.
it excited you to walk in the chasm, seeing the abundance of trees and wildlife. you had to figure out a place to stay for the night though. the chasm was very isolated too, naturally you aren't left with many choices besides to maybe sleep on some grass or near abandoned mines. the sun was starting to set as well, which made you even more anxious about the topic of finding a place to sleep. there were other people at the chasm too, so perhaps you could ask around to see if you could stay with them.
you let out a tired yawn, you hadn't gotten much sleep this morning as you were busy preparing for this trip. your legs were still pushing on, against the state of your body. they dragged along the dirt, as your eyes were finally able to sense people nearby. but before you were able to talk to them, you fell to the ground as your consciousness slipped away slowly.
