.... There was silence.
"Was it that obvious..?"
you were so distracted you almost forgot to ask the question you've been waiting to ask all day. you can't help but feel a little nervous at what she might say... "so yelan.. i remember telling you about how i was trying to find this mysterious flower here in the chasm.." you waited for a reaction before continuing. "i was wondering if you could help me? uhm it's fine if you don't it would just be nice!" you quickly blurted out the last sentence, your cheeks dusting pink in slight embarrassment. at the sight of your pink cheeks, yelan could only muster out a laugh. you worried she might be laughing at you, but a pat on your head make you think otherwise as she wiped away imaginary tears. "your embarrassment is quite cute to me ahahaha..— but back to your question. give me some time to think about it maybe." to your dismay, she stopped patting your head. you tried holding back your pout though it seemed nearly impossible.

you shuffled around in your bed, still thinking about earlier. maybe you should just stop overthinking it, she'd say yes right? you decided to go out for some fresh air, hoping to distract yourself from worrying. the moon was very bright tonight, illuminating the chasm's landscape. you plopped down on the grass, half-lidded eyes staring at the moon. for some reason, you just didn't feel tired tonight. you couldn't help but wonder if yelan was also awake at this time, even though it was like 2AM.. your intrusive thoughts getting the better of you, your footsteps soon approached yelans room. you opened the door just enough for you to peek inside. ... she wasn't inside. you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding in before a voice from behind you suddenly scared you. "looking for someone?" speaking of the devil...her lips ghosting your ear as she put her hands on your shoulders, mischievously staring down at you. you could only timidly turn your head around to meet her seemingly glowing eyes. "o..oh! haha how'd you know that i was looking for you..." you jumped a little at her slightly intimidating stare. (even though she tried not to scare you) a soft chuckle escaped her violet tinted lips. "i have my ways. anyways, did you need me for something?" she retracted her hands from your shoulders and stretched her arms, letting out a satisfied sigh afterwards. "um. actually no! i was just curious to see if you were still awake." you gave her a small smile. "aww.. are you.. worried about me?" her eyes seem to stare you up and down, analyzing you. you swear your face could be as hot as the hottest jueyun chili sauce right now. "pff.. fine. okay.. i care about you." you avert your gaze, too nervous to look at her. yelan gave you a smile of appreciation, even though she knew you can't see it.
"..i'm thankful for that." she mumbled out quietly, her own cheeks turning a little red. her stomach felt like it was spinning around. knowing you cared about her made her feel some special way she couldn't describe... giddy? happy? joy? or maybe... loved? it's been a while since she truly felt these emotions. you manage to break her stoic facade in a way she never knew was possible. the two of you are both blushing, back turned to eachother as you question your feelings for her. does she like you back?
