.... There was silence.
"Was it that obvious..?"
before you even knew it, lantern rite was approaching. and this time instead of spending it with your flowers like usual, this year you'd be spending it with yelan. it was a little hard to believe how the two of you eventually became a couple, you're sure with yelan's charm, she could make any man or woman head over heels for her. yet she chose you. another reason you should try and live up to her expectations perhaps.
you didn't exactly have... friends. growing up you were pretty introverted, and even now you sometimes still have trouble socializing. you also didn't really talk to other people much now that you left the shop in aili's capable hands. so today you decided to go visit the harbor again, after all time doesn't stop for nobody, so you should enjoy the upcoming lantern rite instead of chasing the flower. putting on your usual outfit, you pondered to yourself whether or not to bring yelan with you as well. it wouldn't hurt to ask would it?
she was doing her makeup when you decided to suddenly surprise her from behind, yet she was very keen, so she had already sensed your presence. (but for your sake she chose to keep quiet about it.) "does my pretty girl need anything from me hm?" yelan's gaze still falls on the mirror, seemingly not paying attention to you. you blush at the pet name, it made you feel all giddy and warm inside again like when you both first became official. "i was wondering if you wanted to take a stroll around the harbor with me today." you smile at her, locking eyes with your own reflection in the mirror. "of course, anything for you." she smiles back affectionately at you, shiny violet lipstick catching your attention. you catch yourself admiring her lips once more until she stood up and slowly leaned towards your lips for a kiss. it was gentle, yet you can feel the overwhelming passion being held back. "i assumed you wanted a kiss with how much you were staring at my lips." she lets go, proceeding to put on her signature coat. if you were to die right now, you'd die satisfied with the sight of her curves and hearing the pet names she gives you. maybe you should get her a gift and surprise her later when you get to the busy stalls of the harbor.

as the two of you strolled through the harbor, there were a few stalls that caught your attention. but you had to find a way to distract yelan first... though luckily for you, you noticed a pink haired lady walking towards yelan. you assumed they knew eachother with the way she didn't look on high alert. "hey yelan! i didn't expect to see you here. must be a special occasion huh?" the girl with long antlers waves at yelan. the girl in question gives a small wave back. this would be the perfect time to get away... "it's always good seeing you too yanfei, and i guess you could call this a special occasion. let me introduce you to—" she turned around only to find out you were gone. "um sorry, i think she ran off. ill go find her while you can wait here." yanfei opened her mouth but before she could say anything, yelan was already off. meanwhile you were staring at this stall that had caught your attention with the way it glimmered with luxurious jewelry. "excuse me, how much does this set cost?" the set you were pointing to consisted of a bracelet, necklace, and a few rings. all made of what you assumed was noctilicus jade. "that's about.. 12,000 mora, miss." the merchant smiled at you, assuming you wouldn't be able to afford such price. but thankfully, you weren't that broke so you bought it. you hoped yelan would like it..

you only had enough time to get away from the stall and hide the gift before yelan came running up to you. "oh thank the archons you're okay." she had a worried expression on her face, which made you kinda sad to see her like that. "you don't need to worry about me, at the end of the day i'd still be with you." you reassured her while giving her a comforting hug, stroking her back. coincidentally, it was also the time when yanfei caught up to the two of you. "oops sorry- was i interrupting something?" she sweatdropped at the sight of you and yelan hugging. admittedly, yanfei didn't think she was the type of person to accept or return affectionate gestures in public. the both of you quickly regained your posture as you cleared your throat, hoping to alleviate some of the awkwardness. "so mind introducing who this is?"
