Blueprint Apartments
5:45pm

Everything about the situation was positively overwhelming. From Felix's unpassable generosity, despite their argument and his license to feel burdened, to the fact that Chan was standing in the center of his very own home again.

Four walls, rented, that Chan could call his private resting place, similar to before, even though the company of his dear wife would no longer linger and chill the hundreds of goosebumps irking his skin.

The space was unfurnished, for the most part, with a wide bed frame holding an unclothed mattress in the single bedroom, cupboards with only a few cooking materials granted by the landlord's charity, and a basic, wooden sofa and rug in the living room.

Grey, supposedly perfumed wallpaper painted the surface standing tall around the apartment's inside, with a brief staircase leading a short distance above ground into the secluded part where Chan and Bella would sleep.

"Place isn't bad for the price at all," Chan chuckled breathily, proud of himself for acquiring the economical home; for getting so far. Ever so grateful for Felix for igniting the flames of the elder's progress; for being so unrealistically willing to go to such an extent for a mere stranger.

"Okay, so," Felix skipped down the narrow steps, Bella hurrying behind, "I made your bed with the extra sheets I brought. There are some foodstuffs in the fridge, and let me know if you need some more," he pursed his lips as he paused, staring blankly at one point of the varnished floor as if searching for the vital line forgotten by his full mind. "Oh," he grinned, "yes, some toiletries. I packed them in your drawer. It's not much, but it should last you for most of the month--"

"Felix," Chan cut the rambling boy off, a small smile on his face, eyebrows furrowed thankfully, "you've done enough," he sighed. "Thank you, for everything. For-- for giving me so many things to help us to move in-- you really didn't have to, but you did. And I appreciate that so much."

"My pleasure, Chan," Felix too, smiled, giggling when Bella's short arms wrapped around his lower thigh, her head pressed against his side. "It's the least I could do, really. And I know-- I know we went over it, but I'm still sorry about how I spoke to you," he frowned, petting Bella's head, "I'm still here for you, okay? Always will be for the two of you."

"You have every right to feel how you felt, Lix," Chan stepped forward to hug him, blushing into his neck as he breathed in the vanilla scent of Felix's shampoo, as well as swallowed back a coo at the way his large arms hugged Felix's frame so perfectly. So warmly, as if made to hold someone as precious as Felix, and Felix only.

But Chan couldn't dwell on that twice, so he shook his head, pulling away. "And you still bought Bella a tablet and all! How perfect can you be? Don't apologize to me, Felix. I just hope to be able to pay you back one day."
