BACK AT TOP GUN GRACE MITCHELL and Bradley Bradshaw never talked much about their families. All they know about each other's families is that their dads went Top Gun, and that's what persuaded both of them to join to the navy. That was it.
Grace and Bradley started out as friends, but then became more. They never put a label on it then, but as Grace looked back on it, they were basically a couple.
The bases unspoken rule was to never date a coworker. The sergeants didn't even want the cadets to be friends.
Grace and Bradley hooked up more than once, almost a weekly thing lasting about a year. Grace had fallen hard, but Bradley intended on things being just friends with benefits.
Grace had never told Bradley about her feelings until the day he got his deployment letter. When she told him she had caught feelings, he was speechless and then left the next day without leaving a note. He obviously didn't want anything to do with her now.
That was the last time Grace had seen him.
So, when she got the letter in the mail from Top Gun asking her to come back; she couldn't help but wonder if Bradley was going to be there too.
