"Okay fine. If not for you, I would have never done this."
She replied half heartedly, eyeing me with anger from the corner of her eye.

"That's like my Mishtu!"
That idiot said with a smile and kissed her hair proudly showing off to the world that she was his.
His! My foot!
I immediately turned back and punched my other open palm fiercely to prevent any unwanted drama.
Rono! Calm down!
Two more minutes, and after that it will be you and her. You and your Mishti without that idiot! Just two damn minutes!
I exhaled deeply and turned back to look at the cringe couple.

"Shall we?"
I asked with a smile faker than the laughs of the ladies who approach me.

"As if we have an option."
Mishti made a face and muttered under her breath.

Okay. Rude.
Very rude.
I frowned but then smiled internally in a second.
Thank god! Thank god there was no other option!
Otherwise nothing could make Mishti Khanna travel in the same car with Dr.Ronobir Chatterjee.

"Dr.Chatterjee, Mishti shall go with you in your car and I shall bring your friends with me."
The idiot said something non idiotic.
Both mine and Mishti's eyes shot up at his sentence.
Mine in excitement, hers in shock.

"WHAT!"
The two of us exclaimed together. In different tones ofcourse, but together.

Ujjan looked from her to me and then back to her.

"Umm...did I say something wrong?"
He asked hesitantly.

"No"
"Yes"
The two of us again answered together but differently this time.
I gave her a questioning look as to why she said no whereas she gave me a death glare and stopped me from saying further.
There are two things you should always know about Mishti Khanna.
One, she isn't anywhere near mishti, that is sweet.
And two, she can murder you if you make her angry.
Being somebody who loved his life, I stayed quiet and tapped my feet impatiently.

"How can you even think of me going with him all alone!"
She shouted angrily making me frown a bit.
Wow.
It didn't hurt her to let that Ujjan snuggle into her ear, brush his lips against her hair but it irked her to sit in the same car,
not on the same seat mind you,
it simply irked her to share a car with me.
Unbelievable!

"Oh geez! Calm down Mishti! I understand you didn't like his speech but that doesn't mean you would humiliate him this way. He is a very reputed cardio thoracic surgeon! Do not forget that."
Mr. Idiot whispered so that I couldn't hear but me being gifted with extremely good hearing power, heard it anyway.

Okay so he didn't know about me.
He didn't know about me and Mishti.
He didn't know about us.
Great. Nice Mishti. Nice.
You hate me so much that you don't even want to talk about me!
I looked at her being utterly hurt for the nth time that evening.
Five years and still no mention of me to anybody in her circle.
Such a warm gesture from her side!
I chuckled bitterly.

Perhaps that was why he was being so sweet to me.
Otherwise the venom Mishti had for me inside her, she would have made anyone hate me without even meeting me once.

"Yo-you, you don't know him. If I am reacting this way, there's a reason behind it."
Mishti replied in a very low tone, looking intensely into his eyes.

"I don't know Mishti! You have never mentioned him to me. And if you're believing the gossips doing rounds this city since his return from London, I have nothing to say! You being a journalist if are beginning to believe in gossips then I don't know what to expect from anybody else."
Ujjan Rai expressed with disappointment and I looked eagerly at Mishti whose face colourvhad drained hearing Mr.Rai's last sentence.

The Mishti I knew would do anything to prove to people that she wasn't judgemental. Being raised by a single mother, she had faced enough judgements in her life to even dare to judge anybody else.
I knew it.
I had seen her crying into my shoulders at odd hours of the night in pain.
That shoulder was mine. Those tears were her.
I could never forget how much she hated judgements.
