She walked up to the door. They say history repeats itself, and they were right. Three years ago Y/N stood here, cold and hungry, looking for somewhere to stay. She was young naïve, and carefree only seeing the best in people. Three years ago she was about to change her life. good. Making a deal with the devil is what most would've called it. She made numerous of those. But those times are gone, and she knows that. Now she was standing where she stood all those years ago. There was only one thing she wanted to do. Apologize. Not just apologizing for what she did wrong or what could've been better. Apologizing to the people she loved most, and eventually hurt the most. Apologizing to herself for the way she treated her younger self.

She knocked.

The door still looked the same, and the flowers in the garden also stayed the same. Wildflowers had always been her favourites. She remembered telling him that. But why did he keep the flowers? Maybe he sold the house and the new owner didn't change them. Sure they were pretty. They were chaotic yet so perfect like they had all been hand placed by the creator of beauty.

This might be the hardest thing she had ever done. She saw loved ones die and went through hell and yet this was the most fear she had ever felt. She heard a noise from inside, telling her that someone still lived there. Whether it was him was the real question.

They knocked again.

She knew someone was there. She knew someone was listening, she knew that in this world there was always someone listening. She had learned that all too well. However, this person had a thousand reasons not to trust who she was. You could never be too safe with a stranger. She was a stranger to him once, yet he trusted her. And now she's a stranger to him, to the rest of this world.

No one opened the door.

"It took me 46 hours to get to this place... And if you were him... if you were him you'd open up the door."

On the way here she had barely slept. Stopping at a sketchy motel now and then in the middle of nowhere. But even then she laid awake looking at the decayed sealing. They tried to think of what to say, deciding that just being honest was the only choice they had left.

Silence.

"I'm not leaving until you open up the door."

She had always been stubborn. She sighed and sat on the edge porch, she was not leaving. Not until he had heard them out. She began to nibble at her protein bar. She remembered the first day they had met. How beautiful the sky looked that day.

How her life finally started to have meaning.

Her life started when she went for a walk and she saw him lying in the grass. He lay there so peacefully. His eyes were closed and his lips were formed into a small smile. the wildflowers around him, the sun shining. There was something about him. She wanted to get to know him. And she just blurted it out. "Can I join you?" He nodded and kept his eyes closed. He didn't recognise their voice but he wouldn't mind the company.

So there they were lying in the flower field, enjoying the sun. "I normally don't let strangers lie next to me." He spoke. "I do this all the time." She replied. She laughed at how stupid she sounded.

"I'm Dream, what's your name?"

And for the first time, they made eye contact. "Y/N," she said while she looked at his face. She looked back up at the sky and took in the view.
